Armed Arizonans at an Anti-IRS Rally |
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A man who opened fire at two shoplifting suspects outside of the Sears at Arrowhead Towne Center told 3TV he pulled out his gun to protect himself, his wife and a loss-prevention officer. In the news stories that I have heard and read, there has not been any mention of a concealed carry permit, but Arizona has constitutional carry, so it does not matter. It is also of interest that no one considered putting the shopping center in lockdown, or calling a swat team to the parking lot where the shooting occured. Glendale is part of the Phoenix metroplex.
"They chose to point the gun at me; (they) messed with the wrong Marine," Mervin Brewer said.
And it also sounds as if AZ knows what it’s doing as far as “gun laws” are concerned.
It also sounds like the “suspect” was a liberal plant probably on the dole of the 0 administration
Marine needs more range time or a larger caliber weapon.
Marine needs a good Tax attorney, now that the IRS knows he was protesting them while armed.
I’ve always heard there is no such thing as a “former” marine.
no such thing as EX marine unless dishonorable discharge.
former Marine is correct.
As have I. I'm considering Arizona as a new place to live.
The title was getting too long, so I used ex instead of former. Note that “ex” is not used in the body of the article.
I bet the Arizona rule applies: that anyone who commits gun crime is “not from there” (a transient). (”Or is so crazy that they don’t care if someone is shooting at them.”)
i’m not a marine but i’ve always pondered the wording...
‘former’ implies no longer. yet the point is ‘once a marine, always a marine’
therefore, wouldn’t ‘retired’ marine be better? this would imply you’re still a marine and will come out of retirement if someone’s a** needs kicking
It is hard for people here who are used to stashing a gun under a loose shirt (for a man) or in their purse to go to another place where there is no reciprocal conceal carry laws.
Here in Tucson, the people who were at the scene at the Giffords massacre, knew guns. One was a little old lady on the ground, who knew how to release the clip from the madman’s Glock.
We go to a mountain park where illegals are known to transverse and the rangers all openly acknowledge that park visitors are carrying, because we do not need a permit and because we are smart.
Also in AZ, we don’t need no sticking registration or paperwork when we sell guns between private parties.
Hurray for the last lower continental state to join the union.
We have a gun show coming up. There are a trip. You bring in your gun, they use ties to make it inoperable and then you shop. America armed and free!
I don’t think an ex- Marine would have missed.
In ten years, nobody will remember the caliber, stance,
or tactics. They will remember who lived.
