Why the big deal made over bloggers?
They are what journalists used to be.
I think FR welcomes bloggers, not blog hits.
It is requested that the full text be posted to not require clicking beyond FR.
Journalists used to rip off material and video and present them as their own?
Then they've always sucked, because that is exactly what bloggers do.

The main issue on FR,it seems, is a lot of them excerpt their blog for the purpose of website hits as opposed to discussing their post.
I've seen a few bloggers that only post an excerpt of their blog and never, ever enter into any discussion.
Redirecting traffic away from FR to your own blog for more of your own blog hits is often the goal of some of these amateur writers. It’s rude at minimum and a raid on established sites to attract their hard earned site members away.
It’s a learning curve, but FReepers like old poop humblegunner are the best at sorting the sheep from the goats. I had my “shut up and learn” moments too. It gets kind of fun to watch them work, but at being true blue, old-poop-iron-pants, humblegunner is the cap on the oak tree.
