McCain hints at reelection run with fundraising event (concerned retirement will age him)

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is hosting a $1,000 fundraiser in Washington, D.C., next month, providing a hint that he will run for reelection in 2016.

McCain’s office confirmed the fundraiser to The Hill while reiterating that the Arizona senator has not made a final decision about running again. His office said he will be prepared regardless.

Buzzfeed first reported the fundraiser, which will be held Jan. 28 for “his first DC re-elect reception.”

McCain has said he is strongly considering a run for reelection in 2016, after he joked last year this term could be his last in the Senate.

The former GOP presidential nominee also hosted a fundraiser in New York last month. In that invitation he asked donors to join him while “I consider running for reelection to the U.S. Senate.”

The 27-year veteran of the Senate won his last election in 2010 with 60 percent of the vote, and had a little more than $1.1 million in cash on hand in the third quarter last year.

During a New York Times profile published in December, McCain expressed concern about how retiring might affect his health. He is 77 years old.

“My grandfather actually flew home from the peace-signing on the Missouri and died,” McCain said. “I have seen people age dramatically when they go into retirement.”

He needs to go.

He won't be missed.

2016. Who's going to run against him?

Concerned that he'll be able to yell and shake his cane angrily only at people walking on his lawn rather than the entire Republican Party.

Worried about getting the shakes from Meet the Press withdrawal.

I think they take a secret oath in the Senate that the goal is to go directly from the Capitol bldg to the mortuary.

It’s not about what is best for this country—it’s what is best for McCain. Got it.

He’s, “concerned retirement will age him.” I’m concerned he will continue to serve as President Obama’s butt boy.

Everybody should show up at McCain events and make a big show of presenting a huge 4’ wide check to his opponent.

Any way we can get him to go back to his home state of Panama and run there?

It’s not about what is best for this country—it’s what is best for McCain.

And unfortunately Arizona will probably re-elect this old fool since they benefit from entrenched cronyism.

I did not see anything McCain said about what is best for the state of Arizona. After all THAT is what the Constitution says a Senator is supposed to be there for. Not for what is best for John McCain.
God D*mn career politicians to hell!

This is a screed for what is so wrong with the GOP/RNC another one of it's many problems...

Where is a old sage full of wisdom in the GOP like Barry AUH20 that told RMN "Dick it's time to go"?
