GOP Bill on Obamacare ID Theft Irks White House
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 10 Jan 2014 | John Semmens

Posted on 01/11/2014 8:37:20 AM PST by John Semmens

A Republican bill that would require the Department of Health and Human Services to inform persons whose identities may have been stolen via the Obamacare website was roundly criticized as “defamatory” by Press Secretary Jay Carney on Thursday.

Carney insisted that “whether the risk is real is not the point. By raising fears that people's identities might be stolen if they access the health care website the GOP is undermining people's confidence in the Government. The ripple effect of this is that fewer people will sign up for health insurance.”

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va) countered, saying that “millions of people are being victimized by a shoddily constructed website. It's bad enough that the government has concocted its own man-made disaster in the effort to coerce everyone into a 'Procrustean' health insurance plan designed by idiots. Yet, despite widespread evidence of the noxious effects of the Affordable Care Act, Democrats refuse to offer any respite. Requiring HHS officials to warn potential ID theft victims is the least we can do.”

The Press Secretary characterized Cantor's criticisms as “unpatriotic. As a member of Congress, Mr. Cantor has an obligation to stand up for the Government. He should not be promulgating initiatives that sully the image and dilute the people's respect for the Government. In the grander scheme of things, the hassles that a few private individuals might suffer as a result of having their identities stolen is of far less consequence than the damage this proposed legislation has already done to the people's faith in the President and his Administration.”

In related news, Senator Mark Udall (D-Colo) complained that the Colorado Division of Insurance's accurate reports on the number of health insurance policies canceled in the state (nearly 250,000) were “destroying people's confidence in their Government and in me as a representative of their interests. How can we get people to comply with the law's mandate that everyone buy quality health insurance when they find out that many of those who already had insurance lost their insurance through no fault of their own? I'm not saying that the CDI should falsify the data. All I'm saying is that they could've just kept quiet about it.”

I only WISH and PRAY that the GOPe would grow a pair of balls big enough to do something that would irk the Obama Regime, on an hourly basis. Nothing would please me more.

Satire or not is a blurry line nowadays with the Obama Crime Family. Point is that I went to Healthcare.gov and my OS refused to let me in due to security concerns. I won't consider logging on - I would have to disable my firewall stuff. Give them my ATM number so they can drop funds into DNC controlled offshores? Huh?

My satisfactory HC coverage with the multi national I've been with for 16 years cancelled my PPO and kind of forced me into an HSA THAT I DON'T WANT! - deductible went from 1000.00 to 4500.00. Nice - thanks Brobama

Now I have to check almost every article to make certain it’s not satire. It’s bad when the Dems do so many bad things, ludicrous things that you have to evaluate whether it’s real or somebody is pulling your leg.

Not much left in the GOP worth a damn. The King Obama regime should be exposed daily and with more street language to properly address this communists power takeover. When King Obama is call a communists on every network that would carry it we might have a chance. Otherwise 2014 will mean nothing.

That's kind of the point isn't it? The people need protection from a government that has squandered the people's confidence.

Is it satire that the ‘pubs have filed a bill to inform those whose identities might have been compromised by the Obamacare website? It seems like they should....look at all that Target and Niemann Marcus are having to go through because of compromised identity privacy.

Actually, that's the only point that matters. It doesn't matter whether oboma is hurt politically. What matters is whether the American people are going to be hurt. Screw oboma. Sheesh!

It’s ironic that the nanny state requires warnings on everything except something that can really hurt you.

They don’t need illegals info; they just want their votes. They need the non-compliants’ info because they need it to freeze our bank accounts and sick the fed dogs on us. We’re easy targets. The illegals? Good luck tracking them down as you try to find out which 100 of their cousins they are staying with, and that’s if any of them will answer the door or tell you the truth, that is (not opinion, based on personal experience dealing with them for 20 + years).

I’m still trying to figure out how Holder’s “po folks” who can’t obtain an I.D. TO VOTE are coming up with I.D.s to sign up for freebies like ObammyCare. That’s strange. Maybe we need Congress to do an “investigation”.

Easy enough to deal with.
Every time I see an article which seems too in tune with reality, first thing I do is check the source.
