Was Justice Roberts’ ObamaCare ruling a curse for Republicans, or a blessing?

When Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the Supreme Court’s Marxist bloc in ruling the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate constitutional, stunned conservatives immediately accused him of committing an “act of judicial cowardice.” “It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices,” wrote the supremely hypocritical Roberts as he shattered one of the first rules of judicial restraint by rewriting sections of ObamaCare from the bench. Although he refused to “protect” the people from a wanton abuse of power, he was more than willing to protect DC lawmakers from the consequences of passing unconstitutional legislation.

But did Roberts manufacture his creative penalty-is-really-a-tax revision of ObamaCare for the purpose of bailing out the lawmakers who wrote the Act? Or was it actually his intention to help destroy them!

American Thinker contributor Bill Dunne believes that in his ObamaCare ruling, the chief justice set a “diabolical trap” designed to...

Stop with the Roberts verdict...4 other justices ruled the same way.

The other justices - Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan - are all doctrinaire left wingers. Roberts had a generally conservative voting record.

He was blackmailable before he adopted the children. There’s more hard evidence, i.e. paper trail for the adoption.

The simple & logical explanation is the correct one. Bill Dunne believes what he wishes to be true, not what is.

Roberts sold us out. Bought and paid for. So much for his country and the Constitution.

Obozo’s people have dirt on (at least) 75% of the Republicans. And they use it very successfully.

Doesn’t matter exactly what the string is, what matters is it can be easily pulled. The SCOTUS is therefore hopelessly balanced against us for another generation. I don’t think the country will survive it.

John was a popular student while in High School in LaPort, In., captain of the football team and an outstanding wrestler. Obviously he no longer plays football but I'm guessing that he still wrestles. Here he is shown enjoying an elaborate meal with his best and closest friends. His recent professional pictures show his constant smile but never a toothy grin. Is it a possible signal to all with special interests that he is an accomplished sexual performer.

I had read a separate follow-up on the gay theme that said his two friends shown in the above picture were now married with family. But so what if he is gay and did in fact hustle up and married a compliant shemale and then secured a couple white kids so all could live as a happy family unit and complete his resume. If this were true none of this would change the fact that he is a supreme for life and an attempt to use the information to blackmail and effect the outcome of a decision before the Supreme Court would be met by a toothless smirk from this very smart man.

There is no good reason, absolutely nothing that can justify a Supreme Court ruling approving such a blatant expansion of government power over private citizens. The consequences of Roberts’ cowardice will shape the America our grand-children and their grand-children will live in. Taking comfort in fantasies about how Americans are getting a life lesson in the dangers of government over-reach by approving government over-reach is no different than rejoicing in the important lesson people learn about fire safety after their city is burned down to the ground.

Blackmail is not a one dimensional threat. As for threats, they can be aimed at someone that Roberts cares very much about. Those are usually the most effective. I would not discount the notion that pressure was brought to bear on Roberts.

Roberts’ misbehavior was so flagrant that his fellow Justices on the USSC were appalled. Misbehavior of this importance can be impeached by the House of Representatives... and IMHO it should be.

Maybe we should reflect on the millions that lost heath care or cannot afford to buy and have suffered health problems that they cannot get relief. He changed a law from he bench to a tax. No excuse.

Yah, your pal falls in a tub of shit, comes up with
a diamond, and claims he didn’t fall but jumped in. Sure.
I don’t want judges making political calls, “their”
judges or “our” judges, anyway.

“Running on Obamacare is a huge mistake”

With even the LIV who qualifies for a subsidy realizing what a scam this is, therefore, they’ll be paying more than ever — in what way would it be a huge mistake to run on obamacare?
