America resembling anti-democratic regime - Russia's moment to lead

In recent decades, Russia has undergone vast political and social reforms underscored by a return to religious roots, the end of Soviet Communism, and new existential threats (among them domestic Islamic radicalism). All of these changes have necessarily resulted in political transformation.

As Russia has changed, its former adversary - the United States of America - has also changed, with breakneck speed. America is in rapid moral and institutional decline - fueled by lawless government leaders and a seismic move away from God (at least the Judeo-Christian God that underpins Russian and Western societies), as well as the parallel rise of an entertainment escapism that displaces public awareness and voter engagement while blinding citizens to the loss of freedom and resultant blurring of moral boundaries.

In short, America is beginning to resemble the regimes it topples and wars against. America no longer has the moral credibility to lecture other nations on the incontrovertible virtues of democracy and republican government. Consider recent developments that are quickly becoming the new "normal" in Russia's once great adversary:

President Obama has dispensed with Congress, making laws out of thin air - surpassing the greatest violations of presidential power in recent years, even predecessors Bush and Clinton (both of whom used signing statements and executive orders to circumvent Congress). Obama doesn't even bother to create the illusion of legitimacy. Obama changes existing laws that have been on the books for years, e.g. the Welfare Reform Act, without Congress. He writes laws, e.g. the Dream Act, without Congress. He passes treaties that have never been ratified, e.g. Law of the Sea Treaty, without Congress. And he even eliminates entire sections of his own healthcare reform law - all without seeking Congress to make amendments or pass revisions. These actions make Obama a virtual king, potentate, dictator,

We have gone the way of the former Soviet Union and become a commie state. Always good to have Pravda remind us of this

Where is there to go?, unless you don’t mind living the refuge existence of a semi-hermit in Chile, or the Honduran Hills. I really wish some parts of the plains would secede within the next ten years. That population could live off the earning from fracking alone, sort of like much of Alaska. There might even be jobs for the not so young, not so athletic, one hopes.

I know where you’re coming from. Most of my full adult existence, I always considered myself quite willing to give my life for my country. Looking at what America has become, with a corrupt, tyrannical one-party socialist government, with wide-open borders, and with a putrid, poisonous culture that embraces every deviancy, from homo-marriage to dope to Miley Cyrus twerking... this is no longer a country I would remotely be willing to give my life for.

America has really gone to the dark side. Some people like to dismiss the ‘social’ issues, but with the country sinking so far into the sewer, it’s really become impossible for me to feel any identification nor any loyalty towards what this country has devolved into.

Better then in the US, but not nearly as far as it does here in the Philippines, where I, along with wife and child, have a nice life on less then $1000 per month.
Slovakia, which is an EU country, went on the Eurodollar five days before I left.

Get a mirror and look into it. Pray.

Pray for what? God has spoken about the cesspool that we see the world turning into - why ask Him to delay His return to defeat the Evil One and his minions by making things "better" for a while?

Not a slam - I often get conflicted between the Human condition and the Spiritual condition - we want what we want as far as true Constitutional Conservatism and Christian values, but if that were to occur and spread, the world would not likely deteriorate enough for Him to have to return.

Trust in Him, but don't ask Him to thwart what He has promised - we will sink into the slime and our only real duty will be to spread His Word to any who might listen and be saved. On the other hand....

I pray for strength, I pray for understanding so that I may do the right thing. That’s all I’m willing to share— my prayers are personal.

It was a bad night for spelling; happens when I post too late. I was briefly through the area before it split into two nations. I was very impressed. Is it it me, or are the nations of Europe in that area just more conservative? Switzerland, Austria, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia & Croatia all appeared to me to be much more efficiently run than their neighbors. I considered briefly retiring to Croatia & teaching there.
