Last week, North Carolina rejected in-state tuition for illegal aliens. Now Virginia has followed suit -- voting down special tuition breaks for those in this country illegally.
Advocates for illegal alien amnesty are reeling as the Virginia Senate Education committee voted down in-state tuition for illegals in a party-line vote just one day after the North Carolina Attorney General ruled out the special breaks -- even for those granted special "DACA" status by Barack Obama last year.
The Virginia version of the so-called Dream Act died in a 6-7 vote.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
That fact that there even NEEDS to be a vote, is disturbing.
and commierado thinks it’s a good idea to reward illegal criminals.
Good! Way to go Virginia!!!
“Undocumented and Unafraid” - Their arrogance says it all.
Can the new socialist governor implement this as an “executive order”?
Ed Gillespie, Bob Goodlatte and Eric Cantor are determined to go national with their tuition for illegals.
Let their parents pay. The parents are responsible for the kid’ s situation. The kids should not be allowed to steal the dream.
Common sense has not been our strongest suit.
Terry is a’ragin.
said Sen. Thomas A. Garrett, R-Hadensville. ... I cant vote on the bill because its unconstitutional. We cant do this. Its stupid.
A special election occurred last week in Virginia that will hand control of the VA senate back to the democrats. Don’t be surprised if this bill passes on the next go round.
That is just sad if true. I told I guy I work with that we get the government we deserve, and he said "but I don't deserve it"! After I thought about it, I decided that he was right. But I am not sure what to do at this point but enjoy the decline.
.
The senate ommittees should continue to still have a majority of Republicans as the organization should have been done before the special election.
I don’t ‘think’ a reorganization will happen. There was a lot of trouble on this point in Gov Allen’s term IIRC. Memory fails though and I can’t find any info on this matter. The internet search engines don’t seem to think this is a matter of interest LOL!
Hope someone more lnowledgeable corrects me or backs me up.

“...Several Democrats have said that, with Lewiss victory, they intend to reorganize the Senate to take control a plan that Republicans will protest. Some Republicans have suggested that Democrats need a two-thirds majority to change the chamber rules off-cycle. In 2012, after the last set of Senate-wide elections, Republicans took control of the chamber including leadership positions and crucial committee chairmanships with Bollings support. Democrats argued that the lieutenant governor is not allowed to vote in such organizational matters, but Republicans went ahead anyway.”
OK, WE reorganized at the opening and adopted the rules.
THEY wanr to reorganize AFTER the rules have been set.
They can’t.
But they will raise a stink.
Tell them to come to Maryland,
Here they can get a drivers licenses and instate tuition.
