. Conservative judges apparently gave us the Ruling in Atwater (TX CASE) where a mother and her kids were not wearing seatbelts. She gets taken to jail. As a result of conservative ruling in this SCOTUS case cops can now arrest for throwing bubblegum out of a car window. it was a BAD THING!

You won't be carrying openly, so don't have anything to worry about. This is one podunk town with a Sheriff who's too full of himself to know (or care) how the open carry law works in this state. He'll soon be straightened out.

Dewhurst is running again, and it doesn't matter, as long as he doesn't get 50%+1. Staples would be fine to be in a run off against him. I thought Patterson would be, but Patterson has been less than responsive to some questions.

I really, really want Dewhurst gone.

There are some groups that are pushing showing their rifles on their backs in public in order to show it is legal to do so. People get upset about that due to the various shootings around the country and they don’t understand it is okay to have those rifles in public in Texas.

Police aren’t used to that behavior, either, and they over-react. They know they would be in trouble if there was a shooting and they “let” it happen by not taking those weapons. This is all get sorted out after both the public and the police get acclimated to rifle wearing.

What’s wrong with carrying a rifle around?

I’d carry one all the time if it was convenient. Targets of opportunity always pop up. For example, today I saw 3 coyotes and 1 wolf and a pile of elk. A rifle is way better than a handgun in almost any situation.
