“If you are carrying a rifle around, I am going to think you are nuts. I bet many people called the police on him.”

Please stick around. I think you will change your opinion.

As with any small town, there is one rancher or company owner who is running it. That’s the person to confront. After that, vote out the city council since they hire and fire the police chief. Then sue the city officials and chief individually for violating the law.

“As with any small town, there is one rancher or company owner who is running it.”

Not the case in my experience. There is usually a cadre of local elites that does it, but they better be careful not to arouse the citizens, or they will get kicked out of power. They are usually fairly careful not to do that. Of course, they tend to have the cooperation of the local media.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that [shall not be infringed] unless some pansy thinks those arms look "scary," clause in the 2D Amendment.

Perhaps you shouldn't be allowed to talk in public or post on the internet.

I know you technically have freedom of speech, but your views seem kind of nuts when expressed in public.

You're free to keep those views in your own head, in your house, your place of business, - but don't you dare let anyone hear them on the street, and don't post them on the internet.

Johnny,
Please tell me what his plans are for TEXAS...go visit his site. Then visit his donor pages. He will not do AZ in TX...unfortunately...but that will be our Gov. fpr almost a decade.

You do know that the governor in the State of Texas is very weak, right? The governor can't even pardon criminals. That Lt. Governor has more real power?

Get used to Abbott. He's going to win, anti-Abbott trolls here on FR can't do anything about it.

I said he will be the next Gov. Just saying he will focus on border and will not go after hiring or sanctuary cities. He will remain quiet.

The Governor can't 'go after' anyone. He has very limited powers.

Yeah, I’m a liberal because I believe “shall not be infringed” means exactly that and I don’t have a problem with open carry of rifles.

We have become a police state that is ignorant of the laws granted by both our national Constitution and State Constitutions and the rights granted therein.

Our law enforcement agencies have become an extension of the Federal government and a politicized internal military.

Things like what happened here are a result of a “dumbed down” police force that is verbally told what the law is instead of actually reading it. In general, they do what their are told to do with out question...and in many cases what they are told to do is strictly political...not the law.

Observation of our police over the years indicates a degradation of general intelligence and an increase of general zombie like adherence to what they are told and not to following the law as written.

50 years ago we did not have swat teams, paramilitary police storm troopers, military surplus APCs and attack vehicles.

It really bothers me to think that one day all of these “zombies” and military hardware will be used against the free citizens to enslave them for someone like Obama and his dream of heading up a truly Utopian Marxist country.

We have run out of time. Our children have been totally immersed and indoctrinated in political correctness and dumbed down to the point that they believe everything they see and hear on network TV or by Hollywood and don’t live in the real world. Morality has been destroyed. Now, these children are voters and will follow anything that is the vogue of the day....including their own enslavement.

I’m glad that I am old and won’t have to

Queers and statists must dominate the government and demographics of Minnesota. But as long as they all stay there and not interfere with the Freedom that people in other states enjoy...

“I’m not sure I want to go to the shoot if the cops are going to steal our guns from us. We have some VERY expensive pieces, and replacing them would cost us a pretty penny.”

I had that concern while educating some Arizona officials a couple of decades ago. To mitigate the risk, I strapped on a Russian Nagant revolver, an inexpensive surplus import that I had evaluated and found to be superior to an RG-14 as a self defense pistol. It has a peculiar way of ejecting loaded rounds that can be vexing if you do not know the system. I figured that once the officials took possession, It would be gratifiying to educate them about how to operate a revolver.

They did, I did, and a good time was had by all. I got my revolver back at the end of the day, and I made my point.

So, If you decide to involve yourself in some open carry activism, It does not require that you risk your prettiest or most expensive item.

We do not open carry.

We do take all our ordnance with us to the shoot, and we have all our required paperwork in order along with our CCW permits with reciprocity for every state through which we will drive.

But if we run into some JBTs who make up a reason to search our vehicle and confiscate our guns, it’s really going to spoil the whole experience for us.

This isn’t our grandfathers’ America anymore, Mark.
