Hyper-Stupid Things Said by Jeb Bush

Best listen to your mother, boy...

It's time to give-up on the "nostolgia" of the Reagan era:

"So our ideas need to be forward looking and relevant.
I felt like there was a lot of nostalgia and the
good old days in the [Republican] messaging.

I mean, it’s great, but it doesn’t draw people toward your cause"

"From the conservative side, it’s time for us to listen first,
to learn a little bit, to upgrade our message a little bit,
to not be nostalgic about the past because,
you know, things do ebb and flow..."

"I don't think a party can aspire to be the majority party if it's the old white guy party"

"Reagan -and my father-
would have a hard time in today's GOP..."

"Back to my dad’s time and Ronald Reagan’s time-
they got a lot of stuff done with a lot of bipartisan support"

Reagan “would be criticized” for reaching across the aisle today.
"I do feel a little out of step with my party on this..."

Immigrants "are more fertile- and they love families!"

"...we would serve our students better by focusing on attracting

and retaining the quality teachers by raising teacher pay. "

"I have never wavered from my intention to advance the
cause of diversity in new and more effective ways."

"I used to be a conservative, and I watch these (2012 primary) debates and I’m wondering, I don’t think I’ve changed, but it’s a little troubling sometimes when people are appealing to people’s fears and emotion rather than trying to get them to look over the horizon for a broader perspective..."

Jeb Bush on Ted Cruz and his attempts to kill Obamacare:

"...have a little bit of self-restraint. It might actually be a politically better approach to see the massive dysfunction...  I think Republicans need to just take a step back and allow -- show a little self-restraint and

let this happen a little more organically."

"I miss being Governor"

"I don't miss politics"

Any still in support of a Jeb 2016 run please email me
immediately so I can arrange to come over
to your house and choke you to death with my bare hands...

I think that any of the Bush family are people of much more moral integrity than the sum total of the vast majority of congresscritters.

But...they’re all RINOS.

And I loathe, hate, despise, and f*rt in the general direction of RINOS.

(For balance, I should mention what I do in the exact direction of liberals - I dream of taking a bodacious Obama upon their heads.)

What gets me is how Jeb talks about the GOP like it’s WAY too conservative and intolerant of moderates

That’s why they ran McCain and Mittens (directly opposed by the base), now they’re talking right wing extremists like Christie in 2016 or you, right Jeb?

I fail to see how anybody can logically disagree with these statements, as such.

When a new voter in '16 was born, Reagan had been in the nursing home with Alzheimer's for several years. Nostalgia for the good old days of the 80's is not going to appeal.

This has to be one of the most disgusting, disingenuous and ignorant posts on FR in a long time.

When people say they miss Reagan, they are talking about the timeless ideas Individual rights, limited government and a believe in free enterprise that Reagan so eloquently.

Reagan spoke about brilliantly about IDEAS, not himself.

The disgusting Statist Jeb Bush was directly attacking Reagan's defense of America as Founded; for Reagan's belief that government is the problem, not the solution; for Reagan's belief in Constitutional government

You see, Jeb, the Statist Bush like the rest of his slimy family worship at the Alter of State Power. For the entire Bush family, the all powerful State is the ideal.

How simple does one have to be to think it is about "the 80s."

Reading comprehension not your strong suit, is it?

I said that to a person born in 1998, the 80s is ancient history. Even if they have a conservative bent, talk of Reagan is not likely to flip their switch very far.

I’ll try to explain it very simply for you.

I was born in the mid-50s. The first year I would have been eligible to vote, under present laws, would have been 1974.

Even had I had a liberal tendency, talk about the good old days under Truman would not have been an effective way to appeal to me. No matter how much I might have agreed with what Truman supposedly stood for. I would have been interested in liberal (or conservative) ideas for 1974.

To appeal to the possible conservative 18 year old voter in 2016, we need to develop ideas that they think are relative to them. While Reagan holds symbolic value to you, and to me, I can guarantee he doesn’t to someone born in 1998.

See, that wasn’t so hard, was it?

LOL expected.... sad.

The direct thrust of your original comments were NOT what you explained in response post.

You original comments were disingenuous; a indirect slight at Reagan.

All who have comprehended what Jeb stated about Reagan know that Jeb was indirectly attacking Reagan's core Conservative beliefs.

The ideas Reagan believed in are timeless and would appeal to any generation.

BTW, please learn your history, Reagan was never in a nursing home.

When I comment on specific statements, saying that I am doing so, I am by definition not dragging in other things and deep background regarding the speaker and his relationships with others.

IOW, you may very well object to the speaker and his comments in context. My point was that the quoted words themselves were a truism.

Which is exactly what I said. Anything else you read into it because you bring it, not because I said or implied it.
