Colin Powell: ‘Elements’ in GOP ‘Demonize People Who Don’t Look Like the Way They’d Like’

Appearing on MSNBC, former Secretary of State Colin Powell savaged the Republican Party of which he says he is still a member for catering to “elements” that are overtly hostile to people of other races or nationalities. Powell told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell that there are groups within the GOP who “demonize people who don’t look like the way they’d like them to look.” He added that, for this reason, he believes the GOP needs him more than the Democratic Party needs him.

He said that even senior-level Republicans continue to make “statements about women” and “minorities” that make the party look “less tolerant than it should be.” Powell specifically cited voting laws which he said are designed to restrict minority access to the polls.

MSNBC drags out Colin’s old bones anytime they feel like they need “credibility.” for an argument.

How about if the room contained Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, of Dr. Ben Carson? I suppose they would have to go to a corner and talk to each other????

I wish this tin-star “general” would go bacak to wherever he came from before his parents decided to live here.

Right now he is ensconced with that Nitwit Chrissie WHitman and an executive of Goldman-Sachs (SURPRISE SURPRISE) on the COuncil of Foreign Relations, helping make idiotic foreign policy decisions as an unelected advisor to Obama.

Guess that isn’t enough damage for this dirtbag to create.

I don’t care what a politician looks like, but I sure as hell care if he is a one-worlder Marxist Muslim who hates America and western civilization - like the idiot in the White House or this bloviating armchair general.

Colin is actually a very common name in the British Isles - Scotland, Ireland and Great Britain. Don’t know how a native-born American ended up with it.

I think O'reilly needs to interview Powell. I salute his service but his political life is questionable. As Colin said, he voted for the Democrat 0bama because of his race.

So it's pretty disingenuous to call others for something he's guilty of.

Unstatesmanlike for him to iterate thus. He sounds like Obama. No facts or substance; only sheer innuendo.

I met, shook hands with, and asked him a few questions back in the nineties. He was smart, engaging, and had a presence about him that was impressive.

To see him devolve into playing the race card all the time is simply disgusting.

This guy was allegedly some sort of Republican at one time. He’s had a conversion along the lines of David Brock or Arriana Huffington and should be ignored as just another leftist with a deck full of race cards.

Wasn’t this an old story? Do you suppose 0bama sent him back out to flash the race card this week to take time away from the IRS scandal and O’Reilly interview topics?

This bum should have been kicked out of the Army for his complicity in the My Lai cover-up. Now we have to put up with him incessantly.

We should blast Andrea Mitchell with email asking her why she did not ask for names, dates, and details. Wouldn’t a “good journailst” follow up on the who/what/where/when/how/why?

Seriously, Colon...

the people that you’re deriding don’t give a crap about what you look like,

what we care about is character and behavior.
Of course, criticizing behavior these days will get you called “racist” faster than anything else.

I seriously think Mr. Powell has an identity crisis. He continues to insist that everyone else besides him has a problem and that he is among one of the only people who can solve that problem.

It's as if Mr. Powell keeps fumbling two steel marbles and mumbles something about someone stealing the strawberries. Why, he's certain someone must have stolen the strawberries!

Okay, Mr. Powell. May I suggest some bed rest?
