John Elway was a Hall of Fame quarterback as a player and now is charged by Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen to build the team's roster as an executive.
So, Elway knows what goes on in an NFL locker room as well as the decisions that are made to put the players in one. And Monday, Elway said Missouri defensive end Michael Sam’s announcement that he is gay would have no impact on the team’s evaluation of Sam as a player or Sam's draft status with the team.

More than anything, the NFL will have to contend with a massive Boycott by Christians who will not want to watch him play football and will not permit their children to watch any games that Sam plays.

Big overreach.
There have been many gay NFL players over the decades. LA Rams QB Roman Gabriel, wide receiver “Bambi” (who married lez Joey Heatherton, so they served as ‘beards’ for each other), are a couple of examples that I recall.
No one gives two sheets except the Commie pink fags.

Given the percent of the population that is gay and the percent of the population that can play pro football, either way you work this equation isn’t the total number absolutely microscopic?
And this is treated like some giant turning point and now gay pro football players will come flying out of the closet.
Except, they don’t exist. At least not in numbers that mean anything.
They shouldn’t allow anyone who isn’t gay to play in the NFL.
Doubt that will have much impact, unfortunately. We've lost the narrative and we're losing the cultural war in America. There's not a compelling reason in the world that Man can come up with in his reasoning not to tolerate homosexuality. "Gross" or "eventually self-destructive" are not enough. Sexual restraint is purely a matter of God's will and His standard for morality. In the first century, Tacitus said Christians were "haters of mankind" for teaching against such things as homosexuality. In an increasingly godless society, that popular perception of those of us who stand against immoral conduct is increasing. The world hated our King first, so it will hate us. But it's all temporary!
Roman Gabriel has been married three times...to females. It was the son of Lance “Bambi” Alworth, Lance Alworth Jr,. who got “married” in a homosexual ceremony. Lance Rentzel, not Lance “Bambi” Alworth, married Joey Heatherton. Rentzel was arrested seveal time for exposing himself to minors but never connected to being a homosexual.
What else is he going to say? The press is trolling for the first person to disagree with this so they can vilify him.
I delivered pizzas for about 7 years in northern Colorado. It always amazed me how many people had a ‘shrine’ to John Elway and the Broncos in the front room of their house.
NFL players already give the impression they all are really into fruity celebration gyrations and swishy self-congratulatory chest slapping after even marginally successful plays.

My guess is that teams that need defensive lineman are going to be falling over each other drafting lineman in the first three rounds so they can justify not picking Sam in the 4th (that is where he is slotted right now). If he falls to the 5th someone will take the chance.
So just what is Elway applauding, here ... which form of homosexual sodomy does he find fabulous?
Well, football players wear spandex and helmets, and drink from water bottles.
AND, they smack each other on the butt and take showers together. So who's gay?
What would other competitive cyclists do to a cyclist who makes a choke sign to the other cyclists who he beat or does a fruity dance after winning?
