Obama’s Choice for Surgeon General is Anti-Gun Activist February 11 2014 by Dan Cannon Share This Post

Emily Miller over at the Washington Times has done a nice write up on why President Obama’s choice for surgeon general is a nightmare for gun rights in America.

Dr. Vivek Murthy has proven himself to be anti-gun at several turns, though he has so far side stepped answering questions about his stance on gun rights to concerned senators.

According to Miller’s article (hit the link to read the whole thing, it’s good stuff),

Dr. Murthy is the 36-year-old president and co-founder of Doctors for America, a group that advocates for Obamacare and gun control laws.

The group calls gun violence “a public health crisis.” It pushes for Congress to ban “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” magazines and calls for spending tax dollars for more gun-control research.

The organization also lobbies for doctors to be allowed to ask patients, including minors, whether they have legal guns in the home. If the patient admits to having guns, Dr. Murthy wants doctors to “counsel them appropriately about safety measures.”

Murthy is, of course, also a big supporter of the Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCare), but we won’t get off topic into discussing that here.

If confirmed, Murthy may be one of the most partisan appointments to the position of surgeon general in history.

Why don’t we take a look at some of the disturbing tweets from Murthy’s Twitter page?

I have yet to meet one of these doctors that impresses me. Their holistic and fatalistic view, their passive approach to problem solving make them crappy doctors, IMHO. That is if they are even qualified, since most of them with degrees from some Indian or Pakistani university are questionable. I saw this in the IT field where I worked as a project manager. On paper they had all these degrees and they were brought to the US on H1B visas (i think thay was the visa type)
as computer wiz kids. Most couldn’t do the most basic things despite having alleged masters or even a doctorate degree.

Of course in America we are so “racial” paranoid that people over compensate, pretend not to see the glaring obvious, or suffer from white guilt, but I don’t let these buffoons touch me or my family. The PC BS stops when its my families health.

36 years old? Good God...he's just a few years out of training.Politics, pure politics.A doctor of that age is *just getting started* and seriously lacks the wisdom and judgment of experienced physicians.

Thanks! I’ve wondered most of my life what a plow share looks like-—but didn’t care enough to ever look it up—LOL!

Now I know!

America has a long history of this. Who built the railroad across parts of America?

They are cheap and they have a piece of paper that alleges (don’t look to hard) they know something. So the company can say we have an engineer or xyz filling the slot. It’s all about the lowest bidder and today instead of off shoring, they bring the cheap labor here on special visa’s that big business lobbied for. Off shoring targets the blue colar and industy jobs in manufacturing, this targeted visa and recruitment is for the white colar and professional jobs you can’t easily off shore. Half of these engineers, doctors, PHDs, might as well have gotten their degree from a lollypop machine.

I thought our railroads were built using imported Chinese `coolies’ who worked hard, never went on strike, and later established themselves in business.

As for East Indian doctors, I noticed a world of difference between foreign immigrants & those born and educated here. The latter spoke English like you & me and showed competence & empathy at every turn. The former displayed Brahman arrogance, talked like Mahatma Gandhi & did little more than stick their head in the door.

Patient privacy non-existent; Doctors now required to provide all medical records to federal government
February 13, 2014 Coach Collins Leave a comment

by Doug Book, editor

Over the past 2 decades, Republican and Democrat Administrations have joined forces to require the use by physicians and hospitals of government-certified, interoperable electronic medical records systems, or EMRs. These online record keeping systems will send personal patient information collected by all participating providers directly to the centralized Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, a newly created government agency whose job is making the medical records of the American people “inter-operable–” that is, instantly accessible to any “qualified” agency or agent.

For example, if the patient of a New Jersey physician should become the victim of a medical emergency in Nevada, stored medical information will be instantly available to a Las Vegas surgeon. Expensive and time consuming testing may be unnecessary as the patient’s entire medical history will be a matter of computer record.

On its face, the advent of EMRs appears to be a boon for patients and doctors alike. But as with all federally mandated contributions to the greater good, any advantages associated with EMRs are guaranteed to benefit and serve the DC bureaucracy and not the American people.

First of all, why should it be necessary to FORCE participation of healthcare providers in the EMR system by means of financial blackmail? “Doctors who do not participate by 2015 will be penalized 1 percent of their Medicare payments, which increases to 3 percent over 3 years.” The state of Massachusetts reports that “…60 percent of doctors could not meet the EMR mandate and face potential loss of their licenses in 2015.” Quite a weighty stick to wield against physicians who have dedicated years of their lives and countless dollars to secure that license to practice medicine.
