Hispanic promoters of cruel, cock-fighting extravaganzas were arrested in a massive, February 9th raid at a Plattekill, New York farm about 90 minutes from New York City, the liberal bastion of freedom and amnesty for illegals! (1) The very large cock-fighting ring was headed up by Manuel and Jesus Cruz.
According to the Ulster County Sheriff’s office which organized the raid, the enormous operation involved some 6,000 birds, all bred to kill for money! According to media reports, this cock fighting ring had “operated for years under the guise of a live poultry farm,” yet nothing was done until recently to expose the horrific abuse of animals. (2) ASPCA response team spokesman Tim Rickey believes this may be the ” LARGEST cock-fighting arrest in American history,” adding it was “the largest operation of this type we’ve been involved in!”
A CiR informant said the suspects taken in the arrest staged events in three other locations, entertaining cock-fighting enthusiasts...

My kinfolk from southeast Oklahoma were into chicken-fighting big time. The small town, from my memory in the fifties through the seventies at least, every other house had its cages in the back with fighting chickens, it was a big deal. There were no Mexicans around in those days. As of the seventies the sheriff would still look the other way.
Since then they’ve tightened the law there and while they may still raise them for fighting, they have to go over to Louisiana to fight them.
Cock fighting has been part of this country since Europeans first arrived here.
While I’m all for protecting American culture from the multiculturalist hoards, cock fighting is as American as apple pie.

Not really...cock fighting has been around for at least three hundred years, and it is still popular in Appalachia and the rural South.
