Most candidates for US Senate would be blazing a way for job growth for the slumping US economy, not Doug Truax.
Doug Truax is running in Illinois for US Senate. He sounds like a GREAT candidate for the "Gang of 8" He sure sounds like he is in perfect lock step with Marco Rubio, John McCain and the rest of the GANG of 8 shysters. Yes Doug Truax has a BIG problem with American Workers it seems. Check out his positions on Mandating e-Verify that helps protect the American Worker for example. Doug cannot let American Workers know how he stands on a number of different issues, even though they are facing tough economic times. It seems as though he has no opinion on important subjects like limiting worker importation, Birth right citizenship, Defunding Sanctuary Cities, or assisting Local Police in immigration enforcement.
I have seen Doug Truax speak. I saw him infront of my own eyes diss senior citizens, while calling himself a "NEW REPUBLICAN" LOL, sound like the same ole same ole to me.
Now the Big Announcement! Newt Gingrich has endorsed him!

Oberweis would be a better Senator.
How is Oberweiss. I haven’t heard much good about him either. Hasn’t he run before?

Jim Oberweis is a Strong supporter of Traditional Values.
Especially ProLife and marraige one man one woman.
Well, you’re from Chicago, so you understand what the situation is better than I do. If you think Oberweiss is sufficiently conservative, and has the best shot at winning for us, then I’m happy to have him as the nominee for us in Illinois. Durbin could be vulnerable if its a mega wave.
We love Miss P, who had the guts to run for Congress, but most IL FReepers disagree with her on Oberweis. He’s a perennial office-seeker who has lost virtually every race except for State Senate (including blowing the race to succeed Hastert, after he obliterated an excellent candidate that was on track to win). He’s only been in the legislature for barely a year, and now he’s looking to get out of it already. He needs to stick to the job he was elected to.
Besides, the Combine won’t allow an actual first-tier challenger to take on Durbin. The last time a non-Combiner had the resources to and won, Pete Fitzgerald, the RINO/Combiners spent the next 6 years destroying him and ran him out of office despite being the best Senator the state had had since Everett Dirksen. The lead thug was Rep. Ray LaHood, and he cleared the way for Zero in 2004. Zero rewarded the Combiner RINO with a Cabinet office for his service to the “cause.”
The New Republican party wants to alienate American Tech workers, black janitors, and people in every industry where foreign workers are.
I dont understand why Mark Kirk and Dean Heller would want to add 100,000 illegals to the Democrat voter rolls next time they have to run when they scraped in with enough white turnout.
Kirk’s a leftist and takes his orders from the IL Combine. Voter fraud got him in office to begin with. He couldn’t care less about the legality or consequences of illegals.
As for Heller, it certainly won’t do him any favors.
He’s my Sister-in-laws sisters Son-in-law. They said he was more of a religious right Candidate.
I would go so far as to say that I HATE the RINO Newt Gingrich so his endorsement of Traux does not thrill me.
But Oberweis is old garbage who will NEVER win higher office, he should sit back and enjoy the State Senate seat he finally won and end his narcissistic and endless campaign for the US Senate. Candidates like him act like Kings without Kingdoms and it borderline sickens me.
Unless Truax is revealed to be a Kirk style RINO I back him as the only alternative to Oberweis. He may have a 1% chance of beating Durbin but that’s better than Oberweis’ 0%.
Just to remind everyone, back in his very first run for this office in year of our Lord 2002, he called pro-lifers the American taliban. He’s beloved in some circles ever since his about-face second run in 2004 when he adopted a strident anti-illegals platform. Call me a cynic, I’d buy his delicious ice cream but I won’t buy the red meat he’s tossing at us. It smells.
Fieldmarshaldj, how do you know that the majority of IL freepers disagree with ChicagoLady about Oberweis? Did you survey us? I’ll vote for him. He’s a well-known conservative state senator, but I never heard of Truax before July 15.
My impression is the same as DJ’s: most IL FReepers (and most IL conservatives in general) believe that Oberweis is a selfish candidate who cannot win. But I, for one, have not conducted a formal survey.
If I’m wrong, they can post here and claim otherwise. Neither Oberweis or Truax are a threat to Durbin.
Doug Truax was in the Field all by himself for 6 or 7 months and couldn’t get any traction and raised ZERO! money $100,000? is a drop in the bucket for a state wide race in Illinois! Thank God Oberweis got into the race! This will be the toughest race Durbin has ever had to run in. I have seen the numbers and Oberweis is this/close to Durbin. Truax doesn’t even register. Thank God Oberweis has the fortitude to run and give Durbin a race. If Jim Oberweis had stayed out it would have given Durbin a free ride, like the last two times.
