It's that time of the week again where we look among all the deserving idiots and pick our Jerk of the Week. This week was packed with the usual suspects of President Obama, John Kerry, Michael Bloomberg, and many others. I had almost decided to pick Lebron James and other celebrities shilling for ObamaCare (which they'll never have to use being wealthy themselves), but in the final tally, the winner was Bob Costas. For his continued anti-Second Amendment rants and utter hypocrisy, he is our Jerk of the Week.
The far left leanings of Bob Costas became painfully apparent in the last year when he hijacked Sunday Night Football twice to deliver a nonsensical liberal screed. One of those focused on the liberal mania on more gun control. Since that moment, I have no longer watched Sunday Night Football as I feel that I should have no hand in subsidizing his lunacy and NBC's endorsement of his views. I find the views of Bob Costas a shame as I feel that he's a tremendous sportscaster and I really enjoyed his interview show he did late at night from 1988 to 1994. Still, you cannot argue that he's a left-wing nutjob and an utter hypocrite.
Earlier this week (on March 9th), Bob Costas was interviewed by Howard Kurtz on Fox. When Kurtz brought up his diatribe and Greg Gutfield's labeling of him as a "hypocritical buffoon" as he's surrounded by armed guards and doesn't have to worry about his safety, Costas made the following reply. "In truth, Greg was accurate if you consider one-hundred-eighty degrees from the truth accurate. I have never had a personal bodyguard a single day in my life. There are security people at NFL games that the NFL employs, and there is always massive security at an Olympics, and there... is NBC security."
This comment shows the liberal elite mentality that Costas has. He personally doesn't carry a gun or have a personal bodyguard, but the people he works for and with have armed security that keeps him safe. If he really had the courage of his convictions, then he would demand that NBC and the NFL not have armed security at all. In fact, they should cut back security to some old retired cop as there's obviously just no need for it. Yet of course the spiteful pixie won't have that as only us peons are expected to obey the law. I don't work in a company that provides armed security nor does anyone I know. We have to depend upon ourselves if trouble comes knocking. But then we live in the real world, unlike Bob Costas and others of his ilk, who get chauffeured everywhere, pampered, and told that they're brilliant with every utterance they give.
Plainly put, Bob Costas is a hypocrite. He enjoys armed protection that the unwashed masses can't even begin to dream of affording, but we're considered ignorant and evil for daring to exercise our Constitutional rights. That's why Bob Costas is our Jerk of the Week.

Sports talking heads are more PC & left wing than all the rest of the media elitists. The puny Caucasian variety — Costas, Lupica, Greenberg, Bayless, Rome — are the most virulent. Any of them could be Jerk of the Week on any given week. Better to create a Jerk Emeritus award, give it to the entire bunch, and eliminate them from future consideration.
Not just the week. Every day of every week.
