This is something the TV media are not reporting to the extent it is an explosive development.
We know from media reports the two stolen passports were used by two Iranian Nationals. We have previously been told the passports were used to try and gain entry to Europe their final destination. However, if this report from the LA Times is accurate EVERYTHING changes and actually aligns with our theory of why the plane was taken.

Or, maybe not Iran after all.
If the plane was taken to Iran, then I think Israel would be very worried.
Ya you wonder how that could happen. Something is seriously wrong here. My guess the Chinese eliminated this problem at sea.
Bump
Very suspicious. Focus is now back on these guys. Anyone checked this guy’s “aunt in Europe” alibi?
TSA will increase inspections of 90 yo white women. No problem. they’re on it...
His mama.
From the article
The fact the passports then used in the hands of Iranian nationals to gain access to MH-360 lends further credence to the possibility the State Sponsor for the taken flight was/is Iran.
Ningxia has a larger Muslim and a small Christian population. Church leaders from Ningxia have been detained in 2011. [12] Ningxia also has some few Buddhists and Taoists. The Diary of Ma Yan is a diary by a female Muslim from Ningxia. The Dungan revolt (18621877), Liang Province Rebellion, Kuomintang Islamic insurgency in China (19501958) and Muslim Conflict in Gansu (19271930) took place in the province. Outside Qingtongxia, there are 108 well-known Dagobas.
I feel someone should be trying to corroborate these claims.
Your tagline says it all!!
If they were sophisticated enough to steal the airliner for a future surprise event, then they likely would have placed faux wreckage, perhaps even a faux black box in the ocean somewhere to draw the attention away from their surprise intent.
I think I heard this about 48 hours ago.
I'm not saying you're wrong, kay? In fact my early guesses had been Pakistan and Iran, too.
What would be your theories on...
1. Why the pilot's family left him
2. Why wouldn't a well-financed state actor not simply BUY a plane, instead of causing huge pre-mature panic by stealing one?
This ‘explosive news’ was reported over the weekend
I agree. It's a major omission.
If an attacker had been motivated and sophisticated enough for all the really delicate stuff, why wouldn't they take the fairly easy step of planting fake stuff out in the most eye-catching search places to give false emotional satisfaction...?
The attackers would have unshakable faith that Malaysia --even if unconvinced-- would liberally splash in front of cameras any physical evidence of "the very sad crash".
In the process providing them COVER.
Obsession with flying/practicing the the theft. and ignoring them.
Time spent with suspicious characters and the inability to explain who he was visiting.
More interest with jihadi study than previous family time.
Why wouldn't a well-financed state actor not simply BUY a plane, instead of causing huge pre-mature panic by stealing one?
Perhaps the plan was to take the plane, land in pakistan/iran refuel, load up a weapon and take off straight away. Perhaps the plane broke during the flight out of Malaysia and the pilot is not able to fly it now due to the nature of the discrepancy. (He is a pilot, and knows what is an acceptable risk to get airborne.)
