The Obama Administration continues to push the "peace process" between Israel and "Palestine" and the P5+1 "deal" with Iran. Both are pernicious.
The "peace process"
An understanding of recent history should suggest why pressures being applied to force Israel to pursue the "peace process" with Palestinian heroes are no less pernicious than the Obama - Kerry "peace process" itself. As an opinion writer at Israel Hayom argued today (March 20, 2014),
There can never be peace with a society whose national heroes are murderers. The welcome the killers received in Ramallah expresses the Palestinian essence, not the hugs and smiles at the White House.
Yet the pressure on Israel continues, at least in part because President Obama needs something -- anything -- to preserve whatever little may remain of His foreign policy legacy. Unfortunately, the damage consequent to success of His efforts would be far greater for Israel than any damage to His legacy due to His failure.
The following is an updated and otherwise slightly modified republication of an article I posted on February 23, 2012, well before the recent releases of Palestinian terrorists heroes and the pending release of more.
Reality? Fantasy is better
Those who forsake humanity can have no legitimate claim to the rights they deny others. Yet many insist otherwise and President Obama seems to be among them. Does He despise Israeli and the Israelis? Having no grounding in psychology or psychiatry, I don't know. However, to all appearances He does.
On March 13, 2011, I wrote an article at PJ Tatler about the murders of the Fogel family. It is titled Palestinian heroes are little worse than venomous snakes. Such heroes are at least slightly worse than snakes because they have larger brains and use them, coupled with well nourished religious zeal, to murder young children as justified punishment for the wickedness of being Jews living in "settlements." The article expresses my views about the virtuous heroes who murdered the Fogels. Here is an excerpt.
This brings me to the venomous snakes which want to come into our yard to play with us and with our puppies. In many respects like Palestinian heroes, these pitiably downtrodden snakes are peaceful beings; unless hungry and wanting to assert their natural rights to food, or disturbed after asserting those rights and then merely wanting to relax and bask in the warm sunlight as they also have every right to do, they are harmless. Yet I have sometimes sinned by trying to drive them away or even to kill them (the snakes). May Allah whose beloved children we all are hear my confession and have mercy upon me.Having learned much from Dear Leader Obama, I have resolved to give peace a chance. I am eliminating all remaining (but fortunately ineffective) barriers to snake entry and otherwise making them feel as welcome as my own brothers and sisters. Given enough warmth, affection and puppies to kill they could easily become loyal comrades to comfort me as I slide even further into librul senility.
On January 29, 2012, I posted an article here about the reactions of peaceful folk in what some call Palestine to the 2011 Fogel murders. It is titled Murderers of the Fogel family in Israel are Heroes. Here is its substance:
Vile Israeli imperialist
The photo to the left is of one of the rabid imperialist Israeli children righteously euthanized by brave Palestinians. It takes a brave hero to kill a vile Israel imperialist like her! Praise be unto Allah.
There's a photo of another rabid Israeli imperialist Fogel child to the right. But its all OK! Thats what fearless heroes do when fighting against their own alleged oppression as well as against freedom, democracy and other unislamic stuff.
Shortly after the murders, surviving family members deserved to be taunted and the heroes deserved to be praised. They were. Here is a YouTube video from a Palestinian Authority (Israel's "partner for peace") TV program praising the martyrs who murdered five members of the Fogel family.

Peace is at hand, if only the Israels will suspend disbelief, base their hopes for national survival on fantasy and negotiate in good faith to give the Palestinians whatever they demand. If they do, all of our most pressing problems will vanish. Whoosh!
Do I seem irritated? Perhaps, but only because I am. I am also irritated by President Obama's apparent views on Christianity and Islam. What must He think of Judaism? Those views appear to be among the bases of His errant domestic and foreign policies -- even if He is the First Jewish President.
Unfortunately, His views seem to reflect the world views of many. As noted in an article at Iran Aware,
[A] year after the event, those who profess to deplore violence on both sides of the Israel-Palestinian equation have been completely silent on the Itamar massacre. No words of condemnation about the killing of innocents were heard from human rights groups and NGOs.In Itamar, the daily diet of settler demonization had its intended effect. Killing a demon or the children of monsters or devils is not like taking the life of a fellow human being. Judea and Samarias citizens have indeed been called leeches, snakes and parasites.
. . . .
That an Arab movement should call the presence of Jews an obstacle to peace is one thing. It is quite another for an enlightened and so-called liberal world to do so. But this is the precise reason why Itamar didnt cause any global scandal. Because in a world less surreal than the one we live in, the act of bursting into a Jewish home and slitting the throats of babies would be the cause of moral and religious outrage. [Emphasis added.]
Multiply this act by thousands and one might think it would prompt an international uproar. Yet in the world we live in, Itamar was just a footnote. The Vatican made no reference to the Itamar massacre; nor did UNICEF raise its voice against the slaughter of innocent Jewish children.
The media then fabricated the justification: Because Itamars babies were settlers, they brought the crime upon themselves. Indeed, after any killing spree of settlers, we all read the same comment in the mainstream media: If the Jews hadnt been there, they wouldnt have been killed. If Israel took this approach seriously, it would dismantle the entire Israeli state.
President Obama continues to insist that Israel negotiate in good faith with those who have neither the current intention nor history of doing so. He would have Israel grant concessions leaving her with far less effective defenses than even at present against creatures like the murders of Fogel family members and those who praise them. If President Obama's is successful, more terrorists heroes will have to be released. Do President Obama's apparent views reflect those of most Americans? Even of those who occasionally think about such matters? I doubt it and very much hope that they don't. If they do, we are in far worse than a mere pickle.
The Iran Scam
Iran does not just support terrorists who enjoy and are praised for killing little children. Despite the P5+1 plan for subsequent negotiations with Iran, and the progeny of that "linguistically engineered" document, Iran has or soon will have nuclear weapons with which to attack Israel and other infidel or otherwise enemy states. We have given peace more than a mere "chance." As we continue the not at all humorous P5+1 farce and diminish sanctions against Iran, now open for business, it will continue to work quite well -- for Iran. According to Ambassador Bolton, "Irans most valuable commodity is time. . . . All they need is just a little bit more time and then they can get nuclear weapons." She also needs more money, which she appears likely to have in abundance to complete whatever she is doing. She will not spend all of it on nuke work or even on medicines for her beloved people.
The Iranian parliaments recent investigation into a scheme to import luxury cars instead of medicine threatens to erode the credibility of a leading pro-Iran lobbying group that has long claimed that economic sanctions are preventing access to medicine in Iran.An investigation by Iranian lawmakers recently revealed that nearly $2 billion that had been allocated to the importation of medicine into Iran was actually spent on the purchase of luxury cars, according to Farsi and English reports.
According to Hon. Dennis B. Ross, a former State Department adviser, NSC official and a special assistant to President Obama,
The Obama administration has now created a situation in which diplomacy has a chance to succeed. Although he admits that It remains an open question whether it will. But meanwhile, he is suggesting that Israel should take a gamble on national survival of a potential Iranian nuclear attack just in case Mr. Obama & Co. can pull it off. Given their foreign policy record thus far, that is a scary contention. [Emphasis added.]
In the grand scheme of things, what difference could Israel's survival or demise possibly make now?
Then to fully cover his proverbial posterior, Dennis Ross admits that Still, it is unclear whether Irans supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, whose regime depends so heavily on hostility to America, is willing to make a deal on the nuclear issue. In other words, everything Ive written until now is basically wishful thinking.Israel is unlikely to be the only "one to pay."And should anyone think otherwise, Mr. Ross continues with his copout clause: Of course, Irans government might try to draw out talks while pursuing their nuclear program. Simply put, they will continue their ongoing, and thus far highly successful, strategy of lying through their teeth while smiling at the Western dupes who want to believe them at almost any cost especially if Israel will be the one to pay. [Emphasis added.]
Unfortunately, the Iran scam continues unabated. Former President Jimmy Carter should be pleased with President Obama, but perhaps at least slightly jealous of the paths He has chosen for the United States, for Israel and for their sworn enemies to follow. Did President Obama comment "Fing Israel. I dont care anymore. They wont listen so f-ck them? I don't know; although I doubt that he has the guts to say that he might as well have; it's the thought that counts.
