Richard Fernandez has an excellent post up that must be read in it's entirety. In it he compares two regimes and two battles and how the results of those battles marked the downward spiral of that regime.
First he describes the battle of Midway:
Almost nobody in Japan heard about the Battle of Midway until after the war. The Emperor Hirohito, upon hearing of the debacle ordered a comprehensive cover-up. The wounded were isolated on hospital ships. All mail was censored. Surviving enlisted men and officers were held incommunicado until they could be shipped off to distant battlefields from where it was hoped they would never return. The sunken ships themselves were gradually written off over the course of the war until their loss blended in with the general demise of the imperial fleet. In order to coordinate this effort Hirohito created a special office of cabinet rank.It worked perfectly. If the US had not won World War 2 Midway would never have existed in Japanese history.
...But the loss was worse than four carriers sunk. Jonathan Parshall and Anthony Tully in their classic account of Midway, The Shattered Sword, argued that the battle broke the Japanese empire in a fundamental way. It was the consequences of denial that really finished the Japanese military.
And then he described the battle at Benghazi:
The curious thing about September 11, 2012 — the day of the Benghazhi attack — is that for some reason it marks the decline of the Obama presidency as clearly as a milepost. We are told by the papers that nothing much happened on that day. A riot in a far-away country. A few people killed. And yet … it may be coincidental, but from that day the administration’s foreign policy seemed inexplicably hexed. The Arab Spring ground to a halt. The Secretary of State ‘resigned’. The CIA Director was cast out in disgrace. Not long after, Obama had to withdraw his Red Line in Syria. Al-Qaeda, whose eulogy he had pronounced appeared with disturbing force throughout Africa, South Asia and the Arabian Peninsula. Almost as if on cue, Russia made an unexpected return to the world stage, first in Syria, then in the Iranian nuclear negotiations.Worse was to follow. America’s premier intelligence organization, the National Security Agency, was taken apart in public and the man who took its secrets, Edward Snowden, decamped to Moscow with a laptop full of secrets. But it was all just a curtain raiser to the dismemberment of Ukraine and the disaster in Eastern Europe.
The Ukraine has now been effectively partitioned. The Obama administration talk about inflicting “consequences” and “costs” on Russia turned out to be empty. Almost as if to add insult to injury, Iran has declared victory in Syria over Obama. “‘We have won in Syria,’ said Alaeddin Borujerdi, chairman of the Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign policy committee and an influential government insider. ‘The regime will stay. The Americans have lost it.’”
And still there’s no acknowledgement of anything being fundamentally wrong.
Denial.
Deny deny deny and deny some more.
Obama does it. Hillary does it. The whole Administration does it as well as our 'fantastic' media. Hell, one media talking head was at it just this morning saying the VA scandal is a bigger issue than Benghazi:

In the Obamanation Year of 2009, noted Democrat Intellectual, Ex-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, (also an award-winning Co-Author of the now transparently failed Affordable [sic] Healthcare Tax Law), set the Pelosi Federal Standard of Excellence with this now famous quote:
“We have to pass the Affordable [sic] Healthcare Bill to find out what is in it, - - - away from the fog of the controversy.”
Now, in the Obamanation year of 2014, “We, the People,” are being accused by the same Noted Democrat Intellectual, Ex-Speaker Nancy Pelosi, of willingly approving funding of a “Political Stunt” [her words], formally known as “The Benghazi Murders Select House Committee,” as appointed by permissive, Doormat Republican House Speaker Boehner.
This is an obvious, transparent contradiction to the incisive legal logic that Pelosi used during her former Democrat zeal to ram through a single party mandatory tax on “We, the People.”
If “We, the People,” choose not to correct Ex-Speaker Pelosi’s latest accusatory, (and, as always undocumented), speech then few will remember what we here today have failed to do in this hour of peril in loyal Patriotic Opposition, (commonly called “PO’d”), to the evil, Oppressive, Marxist Regime of the now failed Community of Obamanation, moving forward.
When a noted Democrat Intellectual of the lofty stature of Democrat Ex-Speaker Nancy Pelosi, establishes such a high Standard of Federal Excellence, as brilliantly, and impeccably displayed in her above quote about the Affordable [sic] Healthcare Law, it becomes incumbent on “We, the People,” to fervently beseech our sorry Doormat Republicans to fairly apply that same Standard of Pelosi Federal Excellence to other matters of Federal involvement.
Besides, the Democrat’s own ‘Fairness Doctrine’ requires that this be so as follows: ‘ - - - be very strictly framed in all PC speeches, (as per the dictates of Obama Mentor, published Communist Saul Alinsky), regardless of ethnicity, Country of birth, race, creed, non-Democrat Party affiliation, disgust with politics, low level of voter information, non-subscriber to the New York Times, non- viewer to MSNBC TV, religion, non-religion, gender, or gender of choice.’
Then let us, the Oppressed “We, the People,” do hereby resolve, forthwith, to always enthusiastically be MOVING FORWARD with the Democrat Mandate of the Pelosi Federal Standard of Excellence because:
“WE HAVE TO INVESTIGATE THE BENGHAZI MURDERS AND THE 20 MONTH LONG OBAMA-CLINTON-BOEHNER COVERUP OF SAID MURDERS TO FIND OUT WHAT IS IN IT, - - - AWAY FROM THE FOG OF THE PHONY VIDEO.”
BTW, since B. Hussein Obama always dictates that he has “ordered” his crack AG Holder “To get to the bottom of this,” is that not just another Communist Saul Alinsky Method of deflecting any potentially punitive Investigation away from “Where the Buck Stops?”
If Obama is ever found to be the one where the buck actually stops, all he has to do is to promise that he, ALONE, “will make sure that it never happens again.”

Interesting and logical.
But as in most pieces that see the fall from grace of the Obama regime, the flaw (IMO) that keeps coming back is simple. Most of the media, from which the majority of Americans are spoon fed their opinions, is always going to be covering for Obama; I just can’t see them turning on him. Add to that the fact that the majority of Americans simply don’t have the logical reasoning capability to follow this (again IMO), especially over an extended timeline......oh look, something shiny..........what was I saying?

A Great article—The Obama Cabal has Jumped the Shark—it is only time that is needed for the wheels to come off the wagon. Watch as MORE Scandals come forward—The truth will be most of the bad stuff came right from the Oval Office —That is what I think. Once the media turn on him—it will be over. Obama will NOT see the end of his term.

They can't. Nobody who saw the awful spectacle of 2008 will ever forget for a second that all the MSM rooted all the way for Obama, cheerfully abasing themselves and their professed calling.
They've annihilated their credibility for the sake of a chance, a one-shot deal, to own the government forever.
