Whether U.S. Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi spends the next two decades in a Mexican prison or is freed tomorrow for mistakenly crossing the border with loaded guns all rests with an unpredictable legal process that bears little resemblance to the American court system.
Tahmooressi, 25, of Weston, Fla., has been held in two Mexican prisons since being arrested while accidentally crossing into Mexico on March 31 with three weapons in his truck. According to Tahmooressis defense attorney Alejandro Osuna, of Tijuana, Mexico, his client is facing federal charges for carrying a weapon intended for exclusive use by the military, carrying a weapon not registered in Mexico and possession of ammunition.

Pershing and Patton are spinning in their graves.
A real President would close down every single border post tomorrow until this man is released without charges.
Exactly correct. Might has always made right and there was a time in our history where a foreign country holding our citizenry was tantamount to an act of war. No longer, though. Our diplomats are too busy stuffing themselves on Kobe beef to bother with such trifles as one of our marines rotting in foreign detention.
Dealing with Mexico is a crap shoot at the best. The escape attempt will
not help his situation either. However I don’t blame him for trying to get
himself out by what ever means he could.
oh please! we would let him stay in the U.S., and direct him to where he can get free services...

If I was potus id send in seal team and break the sob out with extreme prejudice
Block currency transfers from the United States to Mexico and the case would be resolved within one week.
EXCELLENT suggestion. THAT is what the SEALs are built to do!
I think someone should man up and call out the Mexican government as the hypocrites they are, demanding we let their nationals violate our borders and our laws without consequence and then persecuting this American soldier. Someone should, but the only balls obama has belong to Reggie.
Tahmooressi is an American citizen protected by the Constotution and not subject to Mexican laws.
a real man should be President!
“If I was potus id send in seal team and break the sob out with extreme prejudice.”
We could send in a SEAL team that could remove the marine without letting anyone know they were even there.
Heck, it’s Mexico. 10 random people on this site in 2 Hummers could bust him out. Funny thing is, we can take 10 random people and they would be as heavily resourced as the jailers.
Were I president, I would call up the Marines and tell them to go to Mexico and get their man.
And to use whatever and as much equipment and men as required.
If I were president, I’d do a prisoner exchange. 20 million illegals for one US citizen returned to our soil.

July 2011 - “Four Humvees carrying 33 Mexican soldiers crossed the border into the United States, and officials on both sides say it was a harmless mistake... In 2008, seven members of the Mexican military were found inside the United States, telling border agents that they became lost and accidentally entered the country.
“
Sure, broad daylight at 1 pm and they couldn’t see the river or the big bridge with signs posted. Claimed they couldn’t do anything but drive into the US because the turn around was on the US side. Who knew Mexican army vehicles don’t have a reverse.
Where are the balls of a real President that would call el president and say “if you don’t release him immediately, the USA will invade Mexico, kill you and your family, and annex your poor excuse for a country.
Would an Executive Order,
Signed by Obama today,
To “Delay” NAFTA
Until, let’s say,
All Americans are freed,
At Phoenix, Arizona
Get the attention
Of Mexico’s President?
Sheriff Arpaio has the Busses,
And great personell.
Obama has his pen and phone,
But never yet used well - - - - - - .
I made my phone call to the vietcong hero john fn kerry’s office.
