First lady Michelle Obama wants students to police their families for any “racially insensitive comments” they might make, and to challenge those comments whenever they’re made, asking them to “drag” their presumably racist relatives into the “fight against racism.”

You heard right. The lady whose husband has taken every opportunity to fan the flames of racism, from the Cambridge police, to Arizona’s immigration law, to the Trayvon Martin case, and on and on, wants everyone else to stop being so racist.

Winston is horrified by the behavior of their two children. Both the boy and the girl have been indoctrinated by Party organizations like The Spies and the Youth League. They play with toy weapons of war and dance around Winston calling him “Eurasian”, traitor, “thoughtcriminal” etc. Winston reflects that within a few years they would not be playing, they would be holding real weapons instead of toys and would turn in their own parents to the thought police if they displayed any signs of unorthodoxy or nonconformity. These children who turned in their own parents as traitors were regularly lauded in the newspapers, the term used to refer to them was “child-hero”.

As I remember, both the communist and the nazi governments taught the children to rat on their parents to see if they were unsympathetic to their government. If, learning from the children that they hated the government they would get a surprise visit in the middle of night by the SS. Now Michelle wants to do the same.

We sold our parent’s house to a Vietnamese woman who had a man with her who acted like a bodyguard/servant. Very scary looking guy. Have no idea what was going on except she ripped out all the mature vegetation and trees and installed some kind of intense, high density garden. (The soil was sand.) When I drove by two years later the place looked abandoned. Several of the houses now had broken windows and the entire area was taking on a Detroit look.
A few of the houses had iron bars on the windows.
Take a close look at the video in post 18. In one story a german mother asks her son to do a chore and the kid attacks her with a knife while screaming “I belong to the Fuhrer”. In another story a 16 year old girl at camp brags to her mother that she and all the girls are pregnant. The mother is then told to go home or she will be reported to the gestapo for sabotaging motherhood.
But it just didn't seem plausible at the time I read it and 1984 was so far in the future.....
After all, what free people, armed with a constitution and real weapons, would allow their freedom to be abridged by such a totalitarian oppressive Nanny-State government?
But now most of it has come to pass and the leftist transformation of America is still bulldozing ahead in high gear.
