"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

That a Texan would win a Texas GOP straw poll is no surprise. The question is whether a Texan can win similar GOP polls in other states.

Between Benghazi, Bergdahl and a whole host of scandals, Hillary Clinton is about as useful as an old, tattered, hole-ridden shoe and just about as attractive to Americans.

Scandals???? Scandals???? Scandals don't damage Liberals, DemocRATS and Progressives. Look how many scandals Barack Obama has been embroiled in and he got two terms. The 47% of our population that is Liberal don't give a freakin' thing about scandals; as long as they get their "bennies" from the govmint.

They don’t matter. They vote liberal. Let them redefine it how they wish. As long as we elect someone intent on doing something to deal with it.

Sure.

But Governor Perry, and Rand Paul finished so far back that I think it means a little bit more than that.

Now if their fan clubs would get the message we’d all be better for it. If they fight for those losers again it just makes it a bigger problem to get our act on one page.

Perry's never been all that popular among Texas Republicans, and Ron Paul has not only never run for statewide office, he's viewed as being a little fringey, which probably hurt his son's numbers.

Rand Paul’s wheels are coming off his image, as he continues to move left.

Ted Cruz mopped the floor with PujabJindal’s arse in the straw poll after the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans. That was May, 31st.

Your answer is a resounding yes!

Cruz is shaky on illegal immigration. He’s not Rubio, but he’s not speaking out about it like he does with other issues.

Well he can’t be that bad since the vote was all about illegals and he aced it.
