Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl could return to active duty after he completes medical treatment for being held captive for five years by the Taliban, Army officials said Friday.
“The goal of reintegration is to return a soldier to duty,” said Colonel Bradley Poppen, a psychologist who will be treating the 28-year-old Idaho native at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
Bergdahl returned to the US early Friday after spending 12 days in Germany as part of his recovery process. He was captured by the Taliban in 2009 and released May 31 in a swap that freed five high-level Taliban terrorists from Guantanamo Bay.
The former prisoner of war has chosen not speak to his parents since his release, officials said.
“It is a returnee’s choice to make that determination when, where and who they want to” reconnect with, said Poppen. “ I believe the family understands that process at this time.”
He said the family is not in Texas to welcome his son....

I find that he hasn’t talked to his parents yet to be very telling.
Really? Oh forget it, that confirms it for me then. They are absolutely going to use the mental excuse and he is going to walk.
Someone said though he was home schooled and his parents didn’t do their job teaching him (obviously) then some other freeper just said he was kicked to the curb out of the Coast guard for mental problems, so this all confirms it to me - They are going to let him walk scot free by using the mental excuse.
I really don’t know much about his parents, just read some stuff about that father. But they look like they’d be capable of teaching a child basic spelling. We’ll never know the whole truth about this guy. And I don’t know why the Army would take a Coast Guard reject, that just doesn’t make sense.
Who knows, maybe he’s some deep cover mole for Obama’s allegiance with jihadis.
There, let’s see if I start a rumor with that.
Maybe he can meet William Calley. Now there’s a father figure for him.
