On July 24th, Dr. Lee Silverman, a Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital Psychiatrist from Darby, Pennsylvania saved the lives of uncounted hospital workers and patients by shooting Richard Plotts, a mentally disturbed patient and felon. While in Silvermans office, Plotts pulled a hidden gun and killed Theresa Hunt, a 53 year old hospital caseworker who had accompanied Plotts to Dr. Silvermans office. Upon the shot being fired by Plotts, Silverman ducked behind his desk, pulled a pistol he keeps in a drawer and returned fire, hitting Plotts three times and ending the criminals would-be killing spree. Plotts was in critical condition and undergoing surgery on Thursday night.
Without a doubt, I believe the doctor saved lives, said Donald Molineux , Chief of the Yeadon Police Dept.
Without that firearm, this guy (the patient) could have went out in the hallway and just walked down the offices until he ran out of ammunition.
So Dr. Silverman is a HERO, right? Well, maybe not so much. This is how Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital officials responded...

You’d think that Obama & his minions would be pleased by his actions, the good Doctor deprived greedy fellow surgeons of all the payments they would have accrued from the potential victims of this crazed individual
Cue the Drum Roll and wait for when some Hospital in Texas makes Dr S and offer so delicious he picks up stakes and moves...
Guaranteed they will try to dismiss this good Doctor who broke their rules if for nothing else, BECAUSE he broke THEIR rules.
They're more interested in NOT being sued by the nutcase's family. The dead bodies of the employees at the hospital are merely collateral damage.

...unless they charge him.
Boy, that police chief is illiterate. “Could have went”? And the comma in the title between armed and hero is not needed. Big, fat hero doctor, not big, fat, hero doctor. Armed hero doctor, not armed, hero doctor. I find extraneous commas to be distracting, and I do not think highly of the literary abilities of those who are constantly inserting them.
Delaware is as empty of reason as the inside of Joe Biden’s head ...
Many of us already know doctors and other medical personnel can be treacherous punishing the innocent protectors of co-workers.
As far as I’m concerned, every police chief in the country can use substandard grammar so long as they come down as hard and strong on the side of the armed citizen who most likely saved as many lives as this one did.
I think it was in the Philly area.
All the hospital had to do is make sure they had plenty of “Gun Free Zone” signs. That would have stopped the shooter and there wouldn’t have been any need for that doctor to shoot him.

I suppose next the hospital will say the perp was in the right to have a gun at the hospital to protect himself from the rabid doctor. Of course the perp was not a good marksman and so we should feel sorry for him and phooey on the doctor.
!
Keep in mind Obama has accused these professionals of cutting off feet for no other reason than financial gain.

The armed but dead (no longer killing hospital employees) nutjob Richard Plotts laying in the hall with three of Dr. Silverman's bullets in him just might be a good starting point in your quest for "understand fully the details of the event" Bernice.
.
All Gun-Free Zones are Free-Killing Zones.
I was afraid this would happen when I heard this story. It made the gun grabbers look bad and that can’t be allowed to go unchallenged.
