Ebola: Intrusive Requirements for Everyone?

We must react as concerned, committed, and compassionate people who have the facts, rather than as people have historically reacted in times of distress, disease, and death

If the Ebola virus disease (EVD) explodes across America we can expect many oppressive but necessary laws to be passed. There will be limitations on personal liberty, but hopefully lawmakers will think these issues through, debate them, and implement only those most necessary.

Reasonable people will argue that, in times of emergency, extreme measures must be taken for everyone’s good; however, there is always a problem. When extreme measures are taken “for the present time,” some of them persist after the danger is past. There are many examples of that in our history. So we must ask questions and demand answers from the authorities.

“I hereby declare a public health emergency for the State, pursuant to the Connecticut General Statutes Section 19a-131a, for the duration of the epidemic. Specifically, in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes Section 19a-131b, I authorize the Commissioner of Public Health to Order the isolation or quarantine, under conditions prescribed by the Commissioner of Public Health, of any individual or group of individuals whom the Commissioner reasonably believes to have been exposed to, infected with, or otherwise at risk of passing the Ebola virus.”

CT has a head start already

World Health Organization Director-General Margaret Chan issued a statement Monday at a conference in Manila calling the outbreak “the most severe, acute health emergency seen in modern times.”

She said development of a vaccine or cure for Ebola has lagged because the virus is prevalent in such poor nations.

“The outbreak spotlights the dangers of the world’s growing social and economic inequalities,” Chan added. “The rich get the best care. The poor are left to die.”

She said the outbreak is disrupting economies and societies around the world. She said 90% of economic costs of any outbreak “come from irrational and disorganized efforts of the public to avoid infection.”

Whatever necessary measures are taken we must always remember that it was AND STILL IS government incompetence (intentional or not) that allowed and allows Ebola patients to get into the US via airlines and probably the Southern border. It is a fact that the CDC could have insisted on the highest level protective suits and facilities when dealing with infected patients.
If we must take needed public measures to contain the outbreak, WE MUST ALSO HOLD GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS RESPONSIBILE WITH NUREMBERG STYLE TRIALS.

Our ruling overlords have decided to reduce the population of the world. It is no secret.
