Vin Scully has the best voice ever in baseball. No one can pronounce the Spanish player’s names better. Juan comes out like a whisper.

That said, the man is 87 years old and been on the job for 67 years. The Dodgers must have the worst retirement plan in the history of retirement plans.

As a former baseball radio guy myself, I love love love this news.

Vin Scully is the last of a bygone era. A master of his craft.

My mother is 82. Just drove out to Long Island from Staten Island for the weekend.

Dont know if she’s hitting the clubs or not :)

80 is the new 60. Or something.

My grandmother didn’t even leave the house practically after 70.

Very good news. “God willing,” Mr. Scully said 2s. I just heard the news on KNX 1070.

As long as Scully wants to work, all baseball fans are lucky. And I’m no Dodgers fan.

I so love that guy. He turned me on to baseball back in the days of Spahn, Maloney, Aaron, Mays, Moon, the Davises, Wills, Koufax, Drysdale, Podres, Howard, Ashburn, Robinson (Frank), Kluszeweski, Roseboro, Snider, Marichal, Musial, Gibson (Bob), Clemente, Burgess, Stuart, Mazeroski, Torre, Adcock, and a host of other first-rate, All-American ballplayers.
He was on 50,000 watt KFI and I could get him at night all the way over in Eastern Arizona, clear as you please.
My life has been very full of baseball ever since.

I’ve said this before...Listening to Vin call a Dodger game is akin to savoring a fine wine. He is the finest story teller and wordsmith ever to grace us Dodger fans. No, make that sports fans. He has no equal.
