BUSH VS. TRUMP: A REVEALING CLUE
The American Spectator ^ | September 01, 2015 | Thomas Sowell

BUSH VS. TRUMP: A REVEALING CLUE Can someone be trusted to lead if allows himself to be bullied?

Thomas Sowell.

Even those of us who are not supporters of either Donald Trump or Jeb Bush can learn something by comparing how each of these men handled people who tried to disrupt their question-and-answer period after a speech.

After Bush’s speech, hecklers from a group called “Black Lives Matter” caused Bush to simply leave the scene. When Trump opened his question-and-answer period by pointing to someone in the audience who had a question, a Hispanic immigration activist who had not been called on simply stood up and started haranguing.

Trump told the activist to sit down because someone else had been called on. But the harangue continued, until a security guard escorted the disrupter out of the room. And Jeb Bush later criticized Trump for having the disrupter removed!

What kind of president would someone make who caves in to those who act as if what they want automatically overrides other people’s rights — that the rules don’t apply to them?

Trump later allowed the disrupter back in, and answered his questions. Whether Trump’s answers were good, bad, or indifferent is irrelevant to the larger issue of rules that apply to everyone. That was not enough to make “The Donald” a good candidate to become President of the United States. He is not. But these revealing incidents raise painful questions about electing Jeb Bush to be leader of the free world. The Republican establishment needs to understand why someone with all Trump’s faults could attract so many people who are sick of the approach that Jeb Bush represents.

No small part of the internal degeneration of American society has been a result of supposedly responsible officials caving in ........... -----------------

I’ll never forget when McCain took a week off from his campaign. I turned to my girlfriend and said, “Wow. He just lost the election.”

GOPe likes to run away.

As much as I don’t like Jeb Bush, it wasn’t he who left the stage for Black Lives Matter. It was Bernie Sanders.

If what you say is true thats a pretty basic mistake and Mr Sowell should pull this column ...Was there another incidence where Jeb walked off?

Trump more like Reagan here.

Reagan used to say he would defend against those disrupting free assembly and speech “at the point of bayonet if necessary.”

Trump sadly is unelectable.

Hillary was “bullied” by Rick Lazio, and the people of NY rallied to support/protect her by electing her Senator.

To th people of NY, weakness was a sign of a strong leader.

Oh, indeed they are planning their attack, or flurry of attacks on The Donald. He has publicly dared them to make a move. I only hope Trump is ready for a public relations war that may begin in the most innocous of ways. Code PINK specializes in staged take overs, but with far less lethal force than those connected with Black Lives Matters.

Steelfish my FRiend, you are still not getting it.

That article is a classic demonstration of Jeb or Rubio talking points. It deals strictly with popular vote percentages for racist demographics, which by the way are not really known in the first place and are all suppositions based on exit polls.

Nowhere in that article does the author even look at States, you know, those thingies that actually elect the President. You've seen my posts here with the electoral maps. Where does that author or you believe that Jeb or Rubio will gain States missed by Romney or McCain? Aside from the possible pickup of Florida ( still not guaranteed, and it's still not enough by itself ), they probably would lose some previously won because of all the people staying home.

Worst of all, nowhere does that author even entertain the fact that Trump will defy their predictions and exceed McCain or Romney percentages for black or hispanic or women or whatever. Frankly I'm surprised you even posted that link. You must have learned something by now. Trump is operating differently than Dole/McCain/Romney so he should not be expected to receive the same or less votes from those demographic groups. He is actually going after them. The article really is just classic Jeb and Rubio and Graham and (R)epublicratic-(R)ino propaganda. You cannot think outside the box?

Hey lookie here, even establishment Peggy is learning how to open her eyes: Noonan: America Is So in Play.

NOTE: that is a WSJ article, it might be paywalled. Just dump the title into google and then click on the link they give you which will allow you free access because you arrived via google.

Why does Trump insist upon keeping Jeb’s name all over the news? A week ago, he looked to be done. Trump appears to be propping him up.

He keeps attacking Jeb because it allows him to simultaneously attack the GOPe. Kill their messenger, kill them.
