Not flying mine. We’re having an all-day gully-washer here in Houston, TX. I was taught to not fly the flag in the rain. If I put it out in the rain, it would simply get blown into the gutter and get covered with gutter slime.

I agree, the elevation of homosexuality to sacred status was the end for me. Just waiting for the Union to break up, de facto or de jure...
Near as I can tell we do not HAVE a “loyal opposition”.
I WAS a part of it when I thought they stood for something.
Now after 3 elections cycles when the “loyal Opposition was strengthened with each election, they have raised a middle finger salute to conservatives and have accomplished pretty much absolutely NOTHING they promised.

It’s enough that the POS defiled the memory of the victims by even appearing, much less going to the Pentagon.
Just seeing him is an insult to all who died and have died since then. He would have only made it about himself as in “my policies have made us safer” and “I killed Bin Laden” as well as other lies.
It’s interesting that for all the reasons I don’t care for Bush, I saw his speech on the pile of rubble days after the attack and he never once used I or me. He framed the catastrophe in terms of “we” as a nation.
The next most disgusting appearance was Geraldo rehashing his “part” and his bravery in volunteering to go to the war zone, and his announcing of the killing of Bin Laden. He, like his idol, POSOTUS, made it about himself.

Bear in mind that soebarkha loathes both the American and the Confederate Battle Flags. Thus I proudly fly both on their appropriate occasions.
I honestly expected him to say that the terrorists involved had families, too.
It's downright scary that I truly expected to hear something along those lines.
This year I broke down and bought a new flag after July 4. The flag we had flown for over 35 years was given to us by my mother. She was a great patriot, a daughter of Polish immigrants. She worked in a war plant in New Jersey during WWII, inspecting parts for airplanes I believe. The flag she gave us was really worn out. I spoke to the VFW about their flag retiring ceremony, they do it on Veteran's Day. My mom passed in 2007 the day after Veteran's Day. Instead of putting out our new flag I brought out Mom's to fly here one last time. Every 9/11 since 2001 she was adamant we should never forget. Miss you Mom! Especially on a day like today.
