Last jailed biker expected to be released after Twin Peaks melee [Waco]
Houston Chronicle ^ | October 21, 2015

The last biker still behind bars over the deadly clash at the the Twin Peaks in Waco is expected to be released from jail Wednesday, his lawyer said.

Marcus Pilkington and 176 others arrested had been held on $1 million bail a piece following the May melee that left nine people dead and 18 wounded. Everyone else had been able to either meet the bail amount of have their bail greatly reduced.

The McLennan County District Attorney’s Office agreed to his bail being dropped to $50,000, which means Pilkington has to post 10 percent of that to be conditionally freed pending an outcome to the case.

“Finally he can get out, we can talk and start investigating” said Houston lawyer Mark Thiessen. The money was raised by family and friends.

Pilkington has been a sergeant at arms for a chapter of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club, according to the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office.

He is charged with being part of an organized crime conspiracy to commit assault and murder as part of an ongoing fight with the the Cossacks Motorcycle Club.

So far no one has been indicted in the case and authorities have not revealed who they believe harmed who among the bikers, including how many were shot by Waco Police.

There has been increasing pressure on authorities to move forward with the case and drop charges against dozens of bikers who didn’t directly participate in any violence.

Thiessen said he decided to represent Pilkington for free because the biker has no money and needs help in one of the largest prosecutions ever in the region.

“I’m interested in this case and want to make sure justice is done,” he said. “It is a huge case in Texas, and it is going to need quality Texas trial attorneys.’

With all those dead bikers and all of this time to investigate you’d think the authorities would have found at least ONE biker to indict.

On the bright side, at least the authorities haven’t yet reached the point of corruption where they indict on made-up charges.

Go to the Chron article and note the snipers on the Don Carlos rooftop.

Are those the snipers that Swinton said weren’t deployed?

Just a bit curious...

No, but they apparently kill and imprison on made-up charges.

Somebody synpsize for me, please ...

was this a meeting of two clubs, or

one club that was crashed by another ?

In all the reporting ... I haven't found the reason for two clubs to be together ... just that they were

Maybe the Grand Jury will subpoena them too.

It was a pre-announced, long publicized meeting of the Confederation of Clubs and Independents (COCI), a nationwide affiliation where various motorcycle clubs meet to discuss political items such as legislation affecting motorcycles and riders. COCI has been having such meetings across the U.S. for more than 20 years; this is the first time (that I know of) that a COCI meeting has involved violence.

Since it was an open-microphone meeting that was open to anyone, even if they don't own or ride a motorcycle, LEO's premise that some bikers showed up "uninvited" is bunk.

"Exactly"

I'm more interested in pathology reports to see if any bullets were recovered from any of the bodies during autopsies. If so, what caliber where the bullets. I'm pretty sure the cops were the only ones there shooting 5.56 or .223 ammo.

The autopsies did not state the caliber of any of the recovered bullets. They were described as “small, medium or large”

Thanx, Finny

Then the question is;

who or what started the first shot?

The cops were already there anticipating (or hoping for) trouble

That is what I want, spent projectiles matched to specific firearms.

who or what started the first shot?

That's one question and it's a good question. Another good one is, "Why were the Waco Police sitting in their cars as the situation escalated?"

"The autopsies did not state the caliber of any of the recovered bullets. They were described as “small, medium or large”

Then it's very possible there reason there have been no indictments is the authorities don't want to have the discovery process start. Once charges are filed the defendants have the right to let their experts examine those spent rounds to ascertain what caliber they are.
