Is there a pardon in the wings for Chelsea and Bill?

CLINTONS: Talked their way out of multiple sunburn since the 1980s. The long nightmare is finally over.

A sitting President can pardon anyone - prior to indictment, after indictment, before or after conviction. There is precedent: Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon before he was indicted.

President Ford reasoned that the American public would not be able to countenance a former Commander-In-Chief sitting in a jail cell. Nixon's crimes were rather benign in comparison to the activist First Lady who became a modern day meddling Eleanor Roosevelt.

A second option and not a good one: Obama could de-classify Secretary Clinton's unsecured emails thereby giving her a soft pardon. But why would he do that? One can only imagine how that scenario would play out, for our secrets could become fodder for subpoenas and depositions. The gathering of critical information and their subsequent protection have most likely been been paid for in American blood.

To lessen the import of our secrets, in order protect the Clintons, would most likely put this country into crisis mode well beyond the scope of the waning Nixon years.

Having said that, and assuming he goes down the pardoning path, Barack Obama could extract a quid pro quo from the former First Lady and her husband. The narrative might go like this: "Go home, bake cookies. You Mr. Clinton, go coach a Little League team (preferably all male)."

However, Obama's "legacy" would be paired with Gerald Ford's who became known as Pardoner-In-Cheif.

Since the 1980s, the Clintons wiggled out of one sunburn after another.

The difference between Obama’s potential pardon of Hillary and Gerald Ford’s pardon of Nixon is that Obama is not facing re-election. The pardon probably sank Ford’s election chances.

Discussions and points of view are almost endless, but one thing is for sure: The Clintons are above the law.

From rape to possibly even murder conspiracy, this scurrilous couple will never face justice and their daughter has been taught that she is also immune.

The only question is whether Huma Weiner, Susan Rice and others will be scapegoats or get pardons too.
