The Standing Rules Committee, which operates in the absence of a Rules Committee empaneled for a specific convention, will meet and vote in April to propose a set of rules for the convention.
The Rules Committee empaneled at the convention will use those proposed rules to form their own set of proposed rules for the convention. The national delegation will vote at the convention to approve, reject, or amend the proposed set of rules.
As you said: "These somewhat ugly rules are how the game is played, and I assume Trump is playing by the same rules. Hed better be proving mastery of The Art of the Deal, or he wont win." Between Roger Stone and Trump, they should have this hammered. We'll see how it all plays out.
PING!!!
Article and comments:
From article:
“What the GOP operates as is each of your States has a Chair person, and a committeeman and a committeewoman. It is these three delegates who will arrive the week before the GOP convention to vote on the rules to steal this from Donald Trump. I urge you, because I have just done this in writing this article, is for each of you to look up your Republican State Party, find out who these three people are, and contact each of them, respectfully expressing your concerns and asking for them to explain exactly what they are going to be doing or expecting in this rules committee set up. This is our responsibility.”

Didn't know each state was so different until I starting researching. It really is complicated. You just have to assume there will be 'law and order' first and they play by the ethical rules in place and no shenanigans happen.
“Donald Trump won South Carolina, but is being conspired against to not get one vote at the convention.”
You failed to explain how the SC delegation will be kept from casting it’s votes for Trump on the first ballot.

While the article presented was about as misleading as anything I have seen on this subject, it did seem to bring out a more reasoned array of comments than we have seen recently. After reading the first 26 post, I estimate that at least half showed a detailed understanding of the process.
It seems that of late, reasoned discussion has been drowned out by emotional rants and ad hominem attacks. It would be nice to have at least one thread every day or so that dealt with facts rather than rumor.
From the article: ". . they noticed that several eastern states like Louisiana, Tennessee and South Carolina will be hijacked from Mr. Trump. Literally, Donald Trump won South Carolina, but is being conspired against to not get one vote at the convention."
Amen to that. .
Preach it, brother. Facts, logic, and reason are in short supply these days - here, on Twitter, all over.
I’ve noticed for a few months that certain freepers who usually raise the level of discourse are mostly silent.
Except as a distraction from what is really going on behind the curtain.
and HOW does the GOPe think they can win WITHOUT any Trump supporters?
cand the GOPe say senate? house? presidency?
COUNTRY CLUB?

Except it’s not a conspiracy. It’s organized campaigning.
I dunno. How is your reply related to my comment?
You’re very welcome. It’s all about the delegates.
In a small way, I am glad this primary has taken place in the manner it has because it teaches a valuable lesson that conservatives must realize. Electing the right delegates is just as key to a Convention of States to amend the Constitution.
If this all hadn’t happened, conservatives would likely be caught unawares for the COS that gets closer and closer. We must send our delegates sent to the COS to represent us.
