Washington Post media blogger Erik Wemple reports that The New York Times is getting very serious about diversity goals in recruiting, hiring, and promoting. Chief Executive Mark Thompson raised eyebrows at a gathering of managers on the business and news sides of the newspaper.
According to three Wemple sources, “Supervisors who fail to meet upper management’s requirements in recruiting and hiring minority candidates or who fail to seek out minority candidates for promotions face some stern consequences: They’ll be either encouraged to leave or be fired.” …

What is the “diversity goal”? What numbers are they trying to hit? What % of the person should be “minority” to count as a person? Should they consider qualifications, experience or education?
What business are they in again? And how is that going for them?
You will be assimilated into the multiculture, or else, American swine!!
It seems that quality of the product has been relegated to a status somewhat lower than EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
Isn’t this the paper that had the scandal over a diversity hire a few years back?

Bet they’re all white - Maybe it’s time their jobs were just given to some joes off the street.

They don’t care about pushing aside qualified workers, if they are white, they gotta go...and at the same time they’re really wondering why Trump has such mass appeal? It’s like an all out war on white employees as these liberal companies.
Diversity comes naturally if you have qualified candidates applying. But in the end, the best candidate should get the job regardless of gender or race.
I trust this means they want to hire several hundred conservatives to help balance out their leftist tilt (which would have already sunk the Titanic)
I just noticed a program on TV. It is titled “Elementary” and yes it is Sherlock Holmes.
I saw one White guy. One Oriental gal. One black guy. That is what is considered diversity now.
Actually I would guess that Blacks make up more than a third of characters on all types of media tho their percentage in the U.S. is between 10 and 12%.
At times I can scan the local channels and see nothing but minorities. No White men at all.
Of course no such demands are made for the Board of Directors.
This the culture that promotes Donald Trump. I can;t imagine it having anything at all to do with the polical value sof the Mexican owner Carlos Slim Helu.

Hey, Obama can tell the NYT where he has scattered all of his Muslim dregs in the USA and they can be shipped to the NYT en masse -— they will have all the diversity they can handle. Oh, they will need explosive sniffing dogs and metal detectors on the doors....
