Venezuelans are using a new euphemism for starvation. They call it “Maduro’s diet.
If socialist Bernie Sanders ran a media outlet, we might see the above headline on a story about how starving Venezuelans have been eating tasty roadkill, vermin, and municipal waste in order to survive.
Don’t laugh. Remember that Sanders said breadlines are a good thing.
“You know, it’s funny. Sometimes American journalists talk about how bad a country is when people are lining up for food. That’s a good thing. In other countries, people don’t line up for food. The rich get the food and the poor starve to death,” Sanders said years ago.

Chavez and Maduro are murderers. Through clever means, they took over the government of Venezuela and turned it into a concentration camp. I know some freepers will pipe up and say they got what they deserved.

Socialism is frankly a wonderful system until the wise figure out that nobody intends to ever pay back its debts. And that’s when it collapses and its very bad for everyone, especially those dependent on it continuing.

Not fnnly at all. In 1955 my U.S.N. ship pulled into Hong Kong Harbor for a serving of R&R. Second day moored I saw a couple of open boats being POLED alongside my ship. Curious, I asked a Chief what’s up? They were there to collect the garbage.
No *&^% I said. A 19 year old American, I could believe it
“Look, kid, every bit of this garbage will be sorted and SOLD to the thousands of people, refugees from Red Chine (across the bay) and to the Boat People. This is how they stay alive. They come to us because our crew is probably higher than all the other freighters here combined. Lots of high quality food in just one place.”
So the garbage of a crew of 500 kept thousands of Chinese alive. I guess the world hasn’t changed that much.
