Pro-Life Ted Cruz brokering Trump deal for Supreme Court
TruNews ^ | December 12, 2016

Posted on 12/12/2016 10:05:55 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

A deal is being brokered for Senator Ted Cruz to fill a Supreme Court vacancy in exchange for a pro-Trump replacement in his Texas seat.

•Source: “A deal” is being cut which would see Cruz nominated on the condition that a pro-Trump Republican could be found to replace him in the Senate.
•Unclear whether Cruz would be immediately nominated to replace Justice Antonin Scalia.
•Cruz was not on Trump’s list of potential Supreme Court picks vetted by Federalist Society.
•Cruz is currently publicly planning to run for re-election in 2018.
•Source: Privately he's ready and willing to become a Supreme Court Justice.
•Alan Dershowitz on Cruz: “One of the best students I ever had.”
•Source: Cruz is widely praised as a legal scholar and orator, but is disliked by Senate colleagues.

(FRESNO, CA) Texas Senator Ted Cruz is set to be nominated for a position on the Supreme Court by President-elect Donald J. Trump if current trends hold, a source close to the process tells GotNews.

The source told GotNews that “a deal” is being cut which would see Cruz nominated to the Supreme Court on the condition that a pro-Trump Republican could be found to replace Ted Cruz in the Senate.

It is unclear whether Cruz would be immediately nominated to replace Justice Antonin Scalia, who died earlier this year, or if his nomination would come later. While Cruz was not on Trump’s list of potential Supreme Court picks, he undoubtedly fits the bill as a staunch conservative constitutionalist.

Cruz, who won his Texas Senate seat in 2012, is publicly planning to run for re-election in 2018. Privately, it seems he’s ready and willing to become a Supreme Court Justice.

Ted Cruz was Donald Trump’s earliest ally and final foe in the Republican presidential primaries. He has steadily reconciled with Trump since the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July earlier this year.

Cruz has been described by his former law professor and world-famous lawyer Alan Dershowitz as “one of the best students I ever had.” Cruz is widely praised as a legal scholar and orator, despite being notoriously disliked among his Senate colleagues.

That dislike may make a Cruz confirmation very easy in the Senate.

Flimsy sourcing. Add to that, Cruz isn't on the list.

That said, Cruz would make a great addition to the SC.

Ted Cruz has a wonderful conservative CLOAK on. He wears it “cleverly.” But he is not even CLOSE to being a decent moral human being. He’s dishonest, petty, selfish, and mean. I don’t want him on the Supreme Court. Surprised if Trump does.

Roy Moore would be absolutely OUTSTANDING!

However, he would likely get “borked”, unless Trump becomes more popular across America than President Reagan. On the other hand, we do hold both the House and Senate for now.

Trump will have to play real hardball with the RINO’s no matter who he picks, as at the end of the day they are one-worlders, not American sovereignty first.

He should truly be recommended for this Supreme Court.

There was a time when I regarded Ted Cruz as a close second to Trump and would have been happy enough with Cruz as the nominee. Not anymore. Then, there was a time when I regarded Ted Cruz as a great potential VP for Trump, or a Supreme Court nominee. Not anymore. I’ve thoroughly soured upon the man. For such a vaunted Constitutionalist, he sure has problems in that regard when it affects him personally. Seems like he’s been embittered by his loss, too, just can’t quite let it go. Reminiscent of Al Gore in that regard. Changed and for the worse, never to be the same man again.

Cruz entered this country as a Canadian citizen. Sure, he had the technical right to become American and did at the age of 16. But he came in as a foreigner.

I’m not sure I buy that one. The man’s just such a totally awkward nerd, I’m not able to envision him being some sort of lothario, even with political power.

Yes, fake news. No way Trump is going to pick Cruz.
Maybe make him a federal judge, get him some experience and we can see whether her has the temperament to be a Supreme for life.

I think it is hysterical that Alan Dershowitz of Epstein Isles is quoted and who is NOT quoted, is the liberals 'god' of the law Larry Tribe. After that New Hampshire debate when the mod asked Teddy Cruz about his eligibility problem... Larry Tribe called Teddy Cruz a hypocrite, because Teddy's claim to fame at Harvard Law School was following the 'original' intent of the US Constitution...

There can be no doubt that Harvard Law School did teach, what is required to be a citizen and what 'natural born' US citizenship means. I cannot imagine the liberals in the Senate will NOT take pleasure in making Teddy look, well, evil or just plain stupid.

Trump is easily just as popular or more than Reagan. The only problem is the newsmakers and who determine what you see on TV are the only blue holdouts in the nation. That’s the only reason Trump is perceived negatively at all.

It's amazing how many here are so uninformed about this sleazeball. They forget Trump called this pathological liar, "Lyin' Ted."

“Creepy Turd”

What are you 10. This is what you think purports to be a discussion ..??

Not only is your wording offensive; it reeks of total stupidity.

Senator Cruz is possibly the most skilled Constitutional Scholar - and a Dem Professor claimed Cruz was the most “brilliant” student he had ever taught.

So, would you like to re-word your disgusting comments; or maybe request it be removed ..??
