Tuesday on The View, host Whoopi Goldberg was adamant that schools needed to provide free birth control to teenagers without parental consent, because they dont teach sex education at school. Whoopi first made this strange allegation on a February 2 show, when she said that a school shouldnt have to notify parents before putting condoms in the boys' and girls' bathrooms.

Whoopi shared an angry mothers story where the woman found out her 16-year-old daughter received a hormonal birth control implant while on a school trip to a health clinic. While the mother apparently gave her consent for the girl to attend the field trip, she didnt consent for her daughter to get an implant placed in her body.
From the start, Whoopi defended the school and the teen girls choice.

Wonder is Whoppi thinks the gay or trans lifestyle is a choice...
I WAS GETTING MY BRAKES FIXED ON MY CAR TODAY AND THEY HAD THIS ON IN THE WAITING ROOM- THESE WOMEN ARE INSANE
And I notice it is 4 liberals against one conservative woman. It’s about an even match if they total up the IQ’s
She’ll never have to worry about that.................
Why does anyone give a smelly Obama about what this idiot says?
I never watch TV, and haven’t seen a photo of Whoopi for some time. She sure is getting worse and worse and worse. I remember a long time ago when she seemed to be a fairly decent person. A LONG time ago.
Whoopi: An “upside-down mop.”
Whoopi has been sitting on her cushion a little too long.

OMG! That is outrageous. A hormonal implant?! And no chance for the mother and daughter to talk it over? What are the health consequences for the girl in the future?
Here in Canada, or at least in Quebec, I am not even allowed to know my daughter’s health reports, or son’s, once they turn fourteen.
It is completely ridiculous. Parents must be able to know the health condition, abortions, birth control, whatever, until they turn the age of majority.
This used to be common sense. The left has gone out of control.
Oh, and the father, too, btw, if he feels comfortable with it.
I still remember “the talk” :) I had when I was around 10 or 11, maybe 12, with my parents sitting me down on the couch and explaining the birds and bees.
Mortifying, but the first thing my younger sister did when I came upstairs was to beg me to tell her everything they said. LOL!
The fashion is to put children’s right to privacy about their right to be protected against actions that have consequences they can’t understand and evaluate rationally yet.
The school/teachers seeks to act as parents and decide what is risky or not or in many cases as facilitators who down play any consequences. These people are promoting an agenda not looking out for children.
When things go wrong they offload their responsibility for the problems and go on their merry way. After all some eggs need to be broken to promote the liberal utopia and its not their egg.
What kind of millionaire dresses like that?

Excellent post.
And as you point out, those people aren’t there to pick up the pieces, to comfort and protect their children, when things go wrong.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Ignorance runs deep
Something that I don't even want to think about.
