SCOTUS filibuster vaporized as Mitch McConnell holds firm on cloture rule change
Wow. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) actually did the right thing for a change.
He led the way as Senate Republicans invoked the so-called nuclear option today, voting 52 to 48 on a party-line vote to eliminate the filibuster for nominations to the Supreme Court. Going forward, high court nominees including President Trump’s current pick Neil Gorsuch, will need a simple majority to be confirmed.

"I really do believe that I have set the Senate so when I leave, we’re going to be able to get judges done with a majority," he said. "It’s clear to me that if the Republicans try to filibuster another circuit court judge, but especially a Supreme Court justice, I’ve told 'em how and I’ve done it, not just talking about it. I’ve been as critical as anyone of Myrtle, but I gave him credit for holding the seat open, and now I applaud for nuking the filibuster. And maybe making medical history too. Are there any other known cases of someone growing a new spine?

Congratulations to the turtle for his 2 big wins! After Scalia died I thought no way he would prevent barky from installing a replacement. And on going nuclear I thought no way he would keep McCain/Collins/Murkowski from screwing us over. So let’s give credit where credit’s due.
Now, will Paul Ryan EVER score a win???

Good, the dims started this BS of filibustering judicial candidates, let them choke on it. I hope the court is 9-0 conservative before Trump leaves office in 8 years
Now start shoving stuff up the objecting Democrats collective @sses with major bills and federal judge appointments on a weekly basis. Let them feel like all they can vote is no or present. Do that for 6 months then ask if they would like to play nice and start cooperating and having some bipartisan bills pass.
You can all gives Thanks to Donald J Trump! Without him, there would be no Neil Gorsuch vote.
