I like your pictorial analogy. It is spot on and illustrates exactly how “DUMB” unions are. She would have everything to gain and nothing to lose by faking some co-operation with the Trump administration. I say “faking’ because the steel skull of Unions is well documented historically.

I read over her twitter. Its full of self congratulation, about how special the NEA is because they spend their time loving other people’s children. I want to know if they love other people’s children so much why, when, more money than ever is being spent, can’t Johnny/Janey read or do basic math when they finish 8th grade? Test scores at NEA member schools are a National disgrace.
But this lady thinks if she shines everyone on with Kumbaya moments it’s all good.
She know those hardhearted reality oriented Trump team players are going to stop the music and she won’t have a chair.

Yes, the complete LACK of any basic skills: kids today are YEARS behind in math, writing (trust me: most kids with COLLEGE DEGREES have atrocious writing skills), history, chemistry and physics — to name just a few.
A while ago someone said something like “if a foreign government were to put our education system in place, it would be considered an act of war.”
The teacher’s unions are completely responsible for that.
No, shut it down. Eliminate the department. Schools should be administered at the local, county level, not run by Washington DC bureaucrats.
