Proving yet again that when someone offers free stuff the rats come out of the woodwork....
Of course people “bought” the vanilla - it was free. I could “sell” a million items if they were free.
Everyone knows that THE best vanilla is made with vanilla beans from Madagascar!
Well, this is just too bad. Penzy’s has great spices. I’ve traveled out of my way to get them. Not anymore I guess.
I think the votes are not in. I used to be a Penzey’s customer. Never again. He has a brother in the spice business that keeps politics out of his business. https://www.thespicehouse.com/

Doesn’t seem like news to me that offering a free promotional drives sales as companies do it all the time. Also not surprising that a small, specialty company can pander to a small segment of the population and see a big boost from the publicity. I am sure there are a lot of wealthy, foodie liberals out there willing to throw a little business his way.
The well of Trump hate fomented by the media and other political elements is deep but companies should be wary before basing a marketing strategy on it. Depending on the customer base for their market it could cost them big in the long run. A few more companies do this and it will become passé as a fad for the wealthy liberals but backlash will develop from the pro-Trump crowd who find other businesses to patronize.
It’s a free country (or used to be anyway). So this male anatomy-head can run his business as he sees fit.
I noticed several years ago that the catalog customer stories were going the way of politically correct “human interest” stories featuring do-gooder virtue-signalers doing their part to save the planet, the downtrodden, et al.
I thought, yeah how much longer until alternate “families” start to appear. Sure enough. No more orders from me. At that time I checked the website and they had that certain equal sign displayed on it.
Truth does not equal lies, and what kind of weirdos are determined to push and normalize perversion while selling regular products to regular America.
Propaganda fronts are everywhere.
Giving away free stuff is good business as the owner insults and patronizes a portion of the customer base? The companies that have pushed social agendas while trying to increase sales have usually been burned. They just need to sell their coffee, cereal, cheap China stuff or in this case spices and just STFU and enjoy our Capitalist system in a great country.
The best spices I’ve ever gotten were from my herb garden in my own backyard.
I grow my own garlic, sage, thyme, lemon thyme, rosemary, basil, oregano, and parsley, most of which are perennials even here in Upstate NY.
There’s hardly a herb that can’t be grown here even if just for the summer, and you can cure it and dry it yourself and know exactly what’s in it.
