Someone will always be poorer or richer than someone else. Poverty means one thing in a famine-ridden nation and quite another in a well-fed nation.
If you made every tech billionaire give up every penny they earn above $250,000.00 to pay for this, I guarantee there wouldn’t be a single self identified tech billionaire left in the US two weeks later.
If you taxed everyone else to pay for this “basic income” welfare, we would soon turn into a third world nation made up of the super rich and basic income poor. A basic income getting rid of poverty? No. No, it won’t. That’s not how economics work. That’s not how human beings work. The very notion is built on the false premise that a government allowance will solve everything. No. I don’t need to listen to a thousand arguments to know Communism will fail.
Perfect scheme for a fascist government. Make everybody dependent on you for food, and then cut them off if they have the “wrong” thoughts.

Not only hasn't it fixed a thing, it's run us trillions of dollars into debt, ruined the inner cities, destroyed the base family unit (a mom AND a dad) created high crime and murder rates (look at Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta...) high out of wedlock birth rates, highest abortion rates in the world, a complete disrespect for human life and more. I could go on for DAYS here.

We already tried it as well (with the War on Poverty); it created the same thing. Americans may opt for the “basic income” in exchange for at least one child born out of wedlock (to be sacrificed to the whims of the state); in return they receive free housing, food, Obamaphones, cash, college tuition, and various other freebies.
Look what happened to those who’ve availed themselves of that option for the past few decades...
