“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The 2nd Amendment is one of the key methods of ensuring a free society stays free. The basis was to prevent tyrannical governance, but the argument of “the collective rights theory” has been the blade that has undone the stitching to allow far more government intervention in the ownership of firearms and has created back doors to regulation.
One of the more recent studies into Gun Ownership and Crime Stats, carried out by the Crime Prevention Research Center, show conclusively that the more people who have permits to carry in an area, the lower the Crime Rates. They suggest that for every 1% increase in gun permits, there is a 2.5% drop in the murder rate. So more guns in the hands of non-felons likely saves lives! Who’d have thought it?

All this is true, but leftists don’t operate on facts.
They operate on feels.
The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution has been breached by power hungry buzzards of any gender, in as many years, at the municipal, county/parish/ward, and state level, who fear the individual’s right to say ‘No’.
They hinder the 2A with such things as government-mandated classes - either by LEO’s or an “approved” civilian organization, background investigations by LEO’s, photographic identification - fingerprint databases, substantiation of liability coverage through registration of the individual’s homeowner’s insurance, and the associated fees.
Upon all of this, elected legislators at both the sate and federal levels, then proceed to further hinder the 2A, through legislation determining WHICH firearms are “approved/disapproved”, to include WHAT after-market parafernalia “can/cannot” be purchased.
Where is the ‘freedom’ there?
The first I question I ask about any gun control laws is “What are the authorities planning to do to us that is so dreadful that they don’t want to risk currently law-abiding citizens to be armed?”
We know things that they WANT to do, like seizing 401Ks, but this is not the upper limit to their evil ambitions.

Gov’t has a definition for every word or term save for the word “infringed.”
BULL $h!+ !!!!!!! the Second Amendment was put in our Constitution to prevent Tyranny such as the democrats are attempting at this very moment .
And make sure all your other licenses and permits to exercise the rest of the Bill of Rights are current.

An Australian journalist twit is in Minneapolis reporting on the police shooting of an unarmed Aussie woman and she cannot understand why our police are armed.
The "Safe Act" legislation was eventually passed with several amendments and changes, however a couple of weeks later it had to be amended again
since there was no provision in the law for police, LEOs or troopers to have any firearms.
The legislation was passed, thanks to NYC, downstate, RINO and eGOP representatives; the upstate, or anywhere 35 miles out of NYC remain free and Conservative. This just to demonstrate the absurdity of rushed, 'Progressive', unConstitutional legislation designed to 'infringe' on our Constitutional, God-given rights of self-defense.
Their reading comprehension skills are lacking, too. They inevitably bring up the word "militia" and usually ask you which militia you belong to. But it is plain to any reasonably capable reader that the first phrases acknowledge the need for and desirability of a citizen militia, but the next part says nothing that limits that right to the militia. What part of "shall not be infringed" do they fail to understand?
That's a fatal mistake on their part: say the same one you're part of
, pull out your State Constitution and show them where it's defined.
(Many/most state constitutions define the militia as able-bodied males 18 to 45, or some variation.)
