The one brother said he helped Stephen move from Florida to Nevada. They drove it. He had several guns by that time. I think the brothers a liar and just watching out for an "accomplice" label.

After all, if you knew that your brother had almost 50 guns, wouldn't your instinct be to report it?

The bro said he knew about two handguns and said they were kept in a safe. Also said Uncle Steve took his kids skeet shooting.

The kids are gonna squeal. They must be grown.

Really, so all gun enthusiasts or gun collectors should be reported? How many FReepers would meet that definition?

Americans shouldn't have to; unless they know of criminal conduct or intent.

I have several family members who would not surprise me at all if they had 50 guns.

Some are collectors, some are enthusiasts, one was a gunsmith.

Believe it or not, I have never ratted any of them out to the authorities.

“if you knew that your brother had almost 50 guns, wouldn’t your instinct be to report it?”

For 99% of people that answer to that question would be an adamant “No!”.

Possession of 50 guns is not that unusual, and most collectors would be thrilled to have that many.

Brother also said he owned a rifle. I thought I heard he started to buy most of his guns after October 16, 2016.

A previously unidentified benefit of being an only child.

Actually, for people who do a lot of target practice and are gun collectors, having that many guns is not unusual. And transporting your collection when you move out of state is a huge deal. You can't let a moving company move them. You have to do it yourself. And it is best to have help. I know because I have helped a family member move his collection. He is also an instructor at a shooting range.

There is nothing unusual about this guy being a collector except for some reason he decided to shoot a bunch of people. There is the rub.

I would like to know if they have done an autopsy on the shooter. The University of Texas Tower shooter from 1966 had a brain tumor.

Not 50, but I might start asking questions at 250.

No, why? I have over 50 guns and it doesn't mean a thing, nor is anyone's business.

You don't think there are hundred of thousands of people who own "almost 50" guns? And we should report them?

I would ask him when he sold off so much of his collection.

50 guns is a good start.

I know a lot of guys with fifty guns, and the idea of "report it" has never crossed my mind.

You are not an American I take it? One third of Americans do not own any firearms. Most of the remainder own one or two. The remainder own many.

No, it would be my instinct to remind him about my birthday.
