When the first Oregon Standoff trial of leaders of the early 2016 protest ended with not guilty verdicts for all seven defendants plus the tackling, tasing and arrest of Ammon Bundy's defense attorney, Marcus Mumford, the jury was then taken to a meeting with US District Judge Anna J. Brown.
Judge Brown questioned the jury as to their reasoning behind the not guilty verdicts.
This was the beginning of a rigged process for the trial of the second group of defendants.
The federal prosecutors tacked misdemeanor charges onto the felony ones, with Judge Brown holding a bench trial on those charges instead of a jury one.
During the second trial, Judge Brown limited defense witnesses and arguments in ways she didn't in the first trial.
One of those who ended up being convicted in that trial, Duane Ehmer of Irrigon, Oregon, was sentenced today to one year and one day in prison. Before passing sentence, Judge Brown rejected a push by the prosecutor to increase the sentence under a "terrorism enhancement"....

The feds gave up on criminally prosecuting defense attorney Marcus Mumford but they are trying to disbar him from practicing before the federal court in Oregon.
A two-day hearing on that matter is set for January 8, 2018 in Portland.
