The liberal writer for the UK's Guardian condescendingly gushes over Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown. The Celtics are currently in London to play the Philadelphia 76ers Thursday but Donald McRae was obviously impressed with Brown's ability to put together coherent sentences and got him to talk about the one thing he assumed American black people always want to discuss: racism.
"Racism definitely exists across America today. Of course it's changed a lot and my opportunities are far greater than they would have been 50 years ago. So some people think racism has dissipated or no longer exists. But it's hidden in more strategic places. You have less people coming to your face and telling you certain things. But [Donald] Trump has made it a lot more acceptable for racists to speak their minds."

I only form my opinions based on pro athletes’ opinions...
He needs to just stay over there...don’t come back.
Better yet, move his sorry racist azz to Zimbabwe or South Africa.
See how that works out for him.
Why not Freetown, Sierra Leone? I hear it’s an all Black paradise...
Stands to reason:
Education: Joseph Wheeler High School, University of California, Berkeley.
More “jock” opinions on how government should work...it’s funny how making big money in sports, suddenly makes them an expert on everything...Hollywood, too.
But, keeping the spotlight on themselves is their prime mission in life.
The vast vast vast majority of racist remarks I have heard/read in my nearly 6 decades in this society have come from blacks, not whites or any other race.
If they gave up victimhood, they would have to look in the mirror...
If you’re fast and coordinated, clearly your political/societal opinions are “more better”...
McRae is correct; racism still exists in the United States. It’s just not where he expects it, it’s not in the form he thinks it is, and it’s practiced by people he doesn’t think practices it.
That statement itself is racist. It's like Harry Reid and Joe Biden say that OBAMA was well spoken and clean cut.
I can't find any political stories about Jaylen Brown predating the Guardian interview.
I guess most American sports journalists were too busy writing about sports.
hmmm wonder when a BA player is going to criticize ex president obama?
He wasn’t talking about Trump, he was talking about Georgia.
Maybe it’s because every time a white person is near you, you act pissed off. It’s a two way street.
I’m a Celtics fan and Brown is a good, young player, but he makes me want to hurl anytime he talks in-depth.
He sat through a couple of African-American studies political agitation seminars as a freshman at Berkeley—and has a scrambled and overconfident view of the world. It’s actually laughable.
He also fashions himself as some kind of genius for having got into Berkeley as a black, NBA-headed applicant.
He’s got the black/white hatred that Obama had as a young man—and he’s less intellectually gifted.
Another carrier of the debilitating disease NFS Negro Fatigue Syndrome. NFS hases away patriotic Americans.
Jaylen’s been flashing his political side since he was drafted.
