The spending bill is an ugly attack on our freedoms. The Republican House and Republican Senate have stabbed us in the back. The Republicans in the Senate have gleefully joined the House in trampling our rights to freedom.
Our only hope for keeping our freedom now is a VETO from President Trump. To override his VETO each Chamber of Congress would have to vote 2/3s in the affirmative. This is a tall order and we can make even harder.
The Senate surprised many of us. It didn't blink. It passed the monstrosity but with a 65/35 vote. That's one short of the number needed for an override of a Trump VETO. Certainly nothing to hang our hat on; but a good start.
Nevertheless, our fight is in the House.
The House is a different story. Ryan's override would mean gathering up 290 votes to reach the required 2/3 threshold.
Making an argument against this happening on a District by District basis isn't really feasible. We all have to think about the situation in our own district. For instance, I'm in Staten Island, the only Republican held district in New York City. Trump won the county easily with a big number. I can say with a high degree of certainty that Dan Donovan, our Republican Congressman, would not have a chance in November if he voted for an override. My district loves Trump, not Republicans. Maybe it is the sane in your district.
I suspect that Ryan would have a tough time getting his 290 votes. Sure he starts out with 192 or so Democrats but the final 98 - ? Are there really 98 Republicans willing to gamble that they can scuttle Trump and go back to the "good old days?" That would require way more backbone than Republicans have had since Gettysburg.
To the contrary I believe this monstrously evil bill is packed with an ample amount of back stabbing attacks that can be reduced to bumper sticker slogan (which is what works in politics) as to make would be overriders cut and run when called upon to defend a veto vote.
I'm sticking with Trump. We are now back to where we were in 2016. We have no one but each other to stand with in this fight for survival.
Remember, we didn't elect Trump: God did. TRUST.

I asked him to VETO.
The President should Veto, and Stand his ground on Constitutional Grounds, Individual Appropriation bills ONLY!! NO OMNIBUS!! NO Continuing Resolution, Produce a REAL BUDGET as required by the Constitution.
I want him to veto, but not because it does not have a rescue for DACA in it as he is stating as the reason.
Trump needs to publicly name every seditionist, and publicly announce the largest rally in the history of the republic to kick off the campaigns for whoever prinaries against anybody who voted for this
Then he needs to publicly talk about one or two of them every day so their names are in the media every day
Every one of the 65 must be removed from office, you k ow every damn one of them are dirty pigs feeding on our futures.
