2.2 Million Fewer People on Food Stamps Under Donald Trump
Breitbart ^ | May 10, 2018 | Katherine Rodriguez

More than 2.2 million people have discontinued their participation in food stamps during President Trump’s first full year in office, according to the latest U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) data on food stamp enrollment.

The latest USDA data shows that since Trump’s first full month in office in February 2017—when food stamp enrollment was at 42,289,366— participation in the program decreased by 2,257,235 to 40,032,131.

The continued decline in enrollment during Trump’s first full year is on pace with the steady decline in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participation since 2013.

Before then, participation in the federal welfare program swelled to 47.6 million—the highest amount it has ever been since former President Lyndon Johnson authorized the creation of the food stamp program in 1964. Taxpayers spent $79.8 million on SNAP when enrollment reached its peak in 2013....

MRE’s for the hungry masses.

I liked the spaghetti meal.

Last night my wife and I stayed in Detroit City proper.

We stayed at the Inn on Ferry St. just off Woodward.

Wife and I had lunch at Slows BBQ on Michigan Ave. and dinner last night at Cutters in the Easter Market.

Thick beats sitting deep in the cut listening to everyone signing along to the soul/rap.

No black on white racism. Crazy fun.

Need to get out more.

Some days I dread going grocery shopping for that reason.

I am hardly extravagant. 40 to 50 bucks of stuff can get me a couple of weeks.

For snack foods, not gas.

I bet most of the EBT is spent at the gas/convenience store. $3 piece of pizza a $1.49 drink and $2 bag of chips. $7 bucks for nothing hardly.

I tell my bunch convenience stores are ruination of America. Casey’s is in part of the country. They know if you don’t stop today, you will tomorrow.

The leeches do that at 7-11’s. The gas stations where I go are almost in the middle of nowhere.

THIS is what drives me nuts. When my mom lived in a retirement duplex, the closest grocery store was in the rough quadrant of town.
I could easily spot the EBT people because there would be several people shopping together on a weekday (no jobs), and the cart(s) would be absolutely brimming compared to every other shopper in the store.
Including, if they were on WIC, buying 6 gallons of milk at a time for redistribution or sale. Very frustrating.

42,289,366 on SNAP/EBT. That is staggering! That is the tip of the entitlement system which is ultimately unsustainable.

I would sometimes shop at a grocery store that had a lot of food stamp customers and be slightly miffed when I would pick up a few BOGO or store brand items that filled 2 or 3 shopping bags and watch a (typically) fat lady ahead of me with 2 or 3 shopping carts full of name brand foods, expensive specialty items, desserts, prime meats, seafood and shellfish and after presenting their SNAP card be asked for $1.22 or $ 2.56, while I would have to pay $60 or $70 for my few items. I stopped going because it was so aggravating, however I went last week and noticed that there just seemed to be regular cash paying people shopping there and thought to myself, “I wonder where the moochers are shopping now?” Maybe it was just an anecdotal coincidence or perhaps many of them have in-fact stopped getting the freebees. Either way, I feel more comfortable shopping for my few items there for now. #MAGA

FAIL! Everybody knows you measure the success of government by how many MORE go on food stamps, not how many get off. Right?

I was in the Army so long ago I’ve never had an actual MRE. We had C Rations. Had a civilian version of an MRE during Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi and some great meals from the Salvation Army, Baptist Missions, Catholic Charities and many others.

I think the numbers are wrong here.

46.7 people on SNAP during Obama and $79.8 million per spent?

More like $79.8 Billion per year

“Casey’s!”

Just came out to Iowa for work and there seems to be a Casey’s on every corner. Can’t say I like their pizza so much but it hits the spot when I’m on the go and don’t have time to sit down to eat a proper meal.

The Left will definitely consider this a bad thing.

Twisting themselves into pretzels trying to explain why people should vote for the democRATS because they have free foods stamps to offer?

Trump has jobs for them that puts money in their pockets.

History shows you can't beat an opposition candidate or party by just saying you hate them.

They better start finding a message soon or that Blue Wave will turn into a rain puddle.

not for gas, but here the gas stations are like small stores which sell food, beer, wine etc, and yes they have signs saying they do EBT.
