"The Syrian Air Force has conducted at least 60 airstrikes against terrorist positions in #Daraa this week alone. Main offensive is yet to begin."
"Paul Antonopoulos" Twitter 6/21/2018
The Syrian military has been on the attack in the southwest of Syria Daraa region this week seizing two villages east of the stategic M5 highway at it conducted operations against jihadist opposition forces.
But the Syrian operations are not the main offensive according to pro-government sources who say that is not happening yet.
The United States has warned against such an offensive with a new warning yesterday (June 21st) and Israel is closely watching the planned Syrian offensive in regions bordering Jordan and the Golan Heights. Israel has intervened in Syria with attacks based on Iranian forces supporting Syria's fight against al-Qaeda forces, ISIS and other opposition elements.
Weeks ago Russia announced the disengagement of Iranian forces from areas close to Israel's borders.
In addition, the Syrian government has announced that only Syrian units are operating in the southwest for the upcoming offensive.
Meanwhile further east Russia has warned of the possibility of a false flag "chemical attack" in Deir Ezzor region further east in Syria to justify US military attacks on Syria.
Thursday night (June 21st) the US launched an air strike on a Syrian outpost near the al-Tanf base on the Iraqi-Syrian border. One Syrian officer was killed.
Fighters from a pro-US group in the region came under attack when the airstrike was called in to support them.
The US base at al-Tanf contains US forces, allied nations forces and local anti-government forces supported by the US.
Last Sunday in the more eastern regions (June 17th) Iraqi fighters helping Syria's government were killed (more than 20) and wounded (more than 10) in an airstrike blamed on the US with a US official telling CNN later that it was an Israeli attack.

When are we going to get out of there?
I’m not sure how much we have there. The Russians act like we have 5 Divisions on the ground
When Hades freezes over......
Iran, and it’s surrogates, are getting smacked down across the region.
Since the US pulled out of the Iran deal, it has been open season on Iran and its surrogates in Syria, Yemen and Iraq.
The Iranian currency has been dropping like a stone, foreign businesses are stampeding out of Iran, protests have been increasing, and it looks like another hammer is about to fall on them, blocking them from the financial system: http://freebeacon.com/national-security/congress-seeks-ban-iran-international-financial-system/
The heat needs to be turned up on Trump to get this done.
Imagine us warning Syria not to lliberate its citizens from villages held under the cruelty of ISIS???
Heres wishing the SAA good shooting in the battle of Daraa and may we not be goaded by Israel into interfering on behalf of ISIS
Given your reportage on some other matters, I’d nominate you to cover the complexity of the situation in Syria on a regular basis. Some graphics of the current ground situation would be a big plus...
Couldn’t happen to a nicer buncha Jihadists.
If that’s true, I’m really disappointed. We have no reason to be in Syria anymore. Either does Israel or any other country or fighting force not invited by the Syrian gov.
When we leave they see it as weakness and will come here. It would not take much to disrupt JIT food deliveries and so forth. Chaos here, to some, seems better than chaos there.
“When we leave they see it as weakness and will come here.”
I don’t remember any Syrians attacking us before we got involved there. I remember it was Saudis that flew those planes into the World Trade Centers. Why aren’t we overthrowing their government?
Neither side is worth our trouble. Keep the Kurds heavily (and directly) armed, and otherwise get out.
At the links like Southfront for example there are maps.
I will monitor the various sides to produce a written explanation as the situation develops.
I don’t have the time or ability to do graphics-maps right now.
I have two jobs and a workweek that can hit 70 hours alongside posting this stuff.
The Saudis have money and their money gives them power in a world where Europe and the USA have major debt obligations.
Even Israel relies on the US for financial support and no wonder they find common ground with the Saudis to go after Iran.
Money matters a lot here for better or worse.
Then you are The MAN for keeping up with the Oregon and Nevada US Government over reaches. Taking on Syria is a real step up...
