Anybody out there with a basic knowledge of this kind of thing?
I got home tonight and opened the trunk my car. I immediately noticed a mouse in the trunk. It looked just like the Hartz Man mice for cars to play with. I reached down and touched it. It was warm.
I immediately squeezed it "to death" and threw it outside the garage, It was still squirming on the pavement.
I came in and washed my hands with soap and isopropyl but I wonder if I'm supposed to go in to get a shot or worry.
I called the vaunted "CDC 24 Hour Hotline" advertised online. It was closed saying "callbackMonday". Calls to 911, fire department, paramedics and the emergency room were hopeless.
Ideas?
Go to confession!
Does it taste like chicken?
No worries. As long as it didn’t bite you and break the skin, you’re okay. Wash hands thoroughly.
If you did, then I would clean the wound. It doesnt sound like it was rabid.
I figured it would devolve. Just not this soon ...
Mouse: it’s what’s for dinner.
Hold on...just bookmarking for later.
I HAVE to get to the gym.
But I’m totally interested because Imma bout to strangle a squirrel.
BMK
Unless it somehow broke your skin you should have little to worry about, but perhaps call a 24/7 animal emergency room and ask a veterinarian.
Only if it bit or drew blood.
Call a veterinarian——they deal with the animal stuff.
,
Did the mouse have any accompanying little mice with It? If so, you are in big trouble.
No, they’ve been living in my car. A couple died in my dashboard and it costed well over a thousand to have the dash removed and cleaned out.
Plus the chew on the electrical wires. I was driven by greed.
Note: If it’s still squirming, you gotta kick it a few times. Not dead yet.
Kinda like McCain.
Oh.
Too soon?
Thought not.
Call the Red Hen in Lexington Va....

They know all about rats..../s
If you are not bleeding don’t worry. You won.
You’re the top of the food chain!
I’d bite it’s head off to be sure though...
Perhaps a bourbon?.
See # 13.
I’ve been raising them in. my car.
it’s very, very expensive.
After watching what my cats and dog put in their mouths, and then slobber us with couch affection, I wouldn’t work into much of a bother besides the hands washing.
If the mouse didn’t bite you or broke the skin, nothing to worry about.
If the mouse broke the skin, you probably need to get rabies shots, just to be safe. If you can still find the dead mouse, you might want to take it with you, I think they can actually test it for rabies.
But you can go to emergency tomorrow, soon enough, no need to go tonight.
