Melania Trump married now-US President Donald Trump in 2005.
The couple met in 1998 at a party in New York nightclub the Kit Kat Club, now the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
It is reported that Donald approached Melania and asked her for her telephone number, to which she refused and took his number instead. The two consequently began a relationship, becoming engaged in 2004.
Being together for the best part of 20 years, fans are still shocked to learn how much younger Melania is than Donald.
Melania Trump is 48, and Donald is 72, with their age gap being a noticeable 24 years.
Melania was born Melanija Knavs on 26th April 1970 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia (then part of Yugoslavia).
Donald Trump was born on 14th June 1946, in Queens, New York.
The 24-year age gap is also the same as the one shared by French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte.
The age gap hasn’t seemed to effect their marriage, still reportedly going strong after 13 years of marriage and seven years of dating.
After they began dating, Melania continued her modelling career, appearing on the cover of In Style Weddings, New York Magazine, Vanity Fair and Vogue
While she was seeing success in her career, Donald had hopes of his own - to find a way into politics.
In 2000 he campaigned for the Reform Party’s presidential nominee, with Melania supporting him and standing by his side.
Around the time of his campaigning Melania even gave a television interview on The Howard Stern Show, to which she was asked by Howard Stern what her role would be if Donald were to become President.
In almost a premonition, Melania revealed she would be “very traditional, like Betty Ford or Jackie Kennedy,” a persona she is pulling off as First Lady.
Following Trump’s attempted move into politics, the couple married in 2005 in a lavish affair in Palm Beach, Florida.
Their opulent wedding saw the likes of Heidi Klum, P. Diddy, Barbara Walters, Simon Cowell and even Hillary Clinton attend.
Shortly after the wedding in March 2006, when Melania was 35 and Donald was 59, she gave birth to her son Barron Trump.
Barron was the first child of Melania and the fifth of Donald’s, after Donald Jr, Ivanka, Eric and Tiffany.
In 2016 Donald Trump ran for President and won the election.
The couple appear to still be going strong, often spotted at public engagements by each other’s side, and visiting the UK together last week.
I had an aunt and uncle with that age difference.
Except that with the Macrons the roles are flipped: she is the elder. I always thought any guy who is with a woman twenty years his senior has a mother complex. Either that or she is filthy rich.

It is very appropriate. America is the place people get all freaked out about things like this.
In her thinking if ANY MAN is in a relationship with a woman who is more than 10 years younger, he is almost commiting a carnal sin. I'm serious when I say that she almost always blow a gasket over this!
So with the 24 yr difference between Trump and his wife, he'd need to repent & separate from her :-) in order to be acceptable to my ex-wife's thinking.
In Asia it’s not quite the norm but it is commonplace.
What creeps me out is when a man marries a woman the same age as his daughter.
I would reckon that Trump was pretty much able to have any gal he wanted at age 59, and probably his peak. He discovered this princess. I can’t understand why she’s not on the cover of these fashion mags again. People want to know about her.
In this day and age with men walking around in full makeup, dresses and high heels, women and men sporting full body tats and facial piercings, I can’t imagine anyone caring about a marital age difference. I mean, who freaking cares?
My dad was 24 years older than my mom.
I worry about her future because I know that I will die while she's still young. But for now at least, we love.

There is no reason why Melania is not on the cover of these fashion mags. There is a one word explanation for why Melania Trump is not on the cover of these fashion mags.
America is the place where people are TOLD to freak out about this, if the miscreant is a republican.
I have a cousin who married a woman many years his senior. Nice gal, they’re happy, what else matters?
