NFL Millionaires Continue Their Protest

Major wake-up call for the NFL, but not if the league remains beholden to millionaire players instead of the loyal fans who support the league

A new NFL season started on Thursday night, and there were more misguided National Anthem protests. Sadly, several players used the opportunity to express their grievances against their country, instead of respecting a great and unifying symbol of the United States of America.

Players who should have been expressing their deep gratitude and support for their country, once again, showed disrespect. President Trump responded by expressing his displeasure, tweeting, “The NFL players are at it again-taking a knee when they should be standing proudly for the National Anthem.”

The National Felons League is destined to go via of the doo-doo bird.
IF it weren’t for the “ball”, most of these ungrateful racist bassturds would be picking up trash along America’s highways.....dressed in prison orange.

I don’t think the league will go broke, but I think the TV contract and sports apparel deals will go south, and players will get this confusing situation when the union sits down for the next contract deal. My guess is that there will have to be a 10-percent paycut coming, and it’ll trigger a strike. The owners will grin and say fine....six months into the strike, a harsh reality will occur with the players.

The NFL will change its tune when the next stadium is voted down.

You are right.. NFL right now will make their money because of tv contract. Platforms like ESPN and Fox are taking the hit because viewership is down which means advertising rates are down. SEE ESPN and costs cutting they have had to to do. But next tv contract NFL won’t get billions so players salaries will drop.

You may be correct, but I am looking forward to a strike that never gets settled--and the total annihilation of the NFL.

Drama teaches best!

I have to disagree with you. The players, having been raised I. A paradigm where they demand more and are gladly given it, will never give is to a pay cut. They feel that they, as on duty employees, can behave any way they want to. The only way to eliminate this will be for the NFL to go dark for a couple of seasons and fine almost entirely different players. The NFzl players unionwill have to accept what they call “slave restrictions” (you know, the requirement to behave in a certain way while they are on the job) that thecrest of us follow.

Hundreds of millions of dollars will be lost as a result. But it’s a situation they brought on themselves by hiring thugs and paying them millions. The NFL’s ratings will continue to erode and the network contracts will have to be renegotiated. Advertisers will bail. The audience numbers arn’t being met. Something’s gotta give.

Can’t wait to see empty stadiums this year. I will tune in check out the crowd size, or lack there of, and then tune out. My guess crowd camera shots, like cheerleader camera shots, will be banned.

Number of NFL players involved in helping their communities with many of the grievances they were kneeling for in the off season- 0.

I missed it. I haven’t seen an NFL game this century and see no reason to change that.
