Is this the EU version of Net Neutrality or just net Censorship?
and what if countries simply refused to pay the tax? Maybe the countries that are affected can ban together and declare a law outlawing taxes on hyperlinks- and arrest anyone in any country that tries to create hyperlink taxes- which law will be the more ‘authoritative’?
This will drive more sites and traffic to the dark web.
Is Brussels trying to completely destroy the European economy?
That would kill FR if it was in Europe and who knows what effect it will have anyway.
It seems to me that American companies are being targeted.
The US needs to hit back - hard.

Net Control.
Government only wants a FEW websites where video and content are posted so they can control the discussion. Those companies that play along will be allowed to get bigger and gain government protections -those that dont will be squashed.

This is all about shutting down conservative and alternative media. Up till now people have been able to post clips from other media sources to discuss or critique and it is covered under fair use laws. These new laws will make it hard to do that. I expect the EU and the countries leading it like Germany and France to implement this in such a way as to shutdown conservative channels on youtube. They are dangerous totalitarians.
And that right there is one of the most important peices of fascism: the illusion of probably ownership of business but under total government control.
Or where it is still free like in the US?
But what does Al Gore say about it?
World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee... should be respected by all politicians in the EU.
EU. Wow. John Paul II promoted it and then wasted his time trying to influence it. Sadly, EU is not American.
The plan is to have the entire free Internet legislated out of existence by 2020 via copyright laws. Everything will be pay-per-click, and if they don’t like you you aren’t allowed to link even if you pay.
Believe me they will want money to link anything if they can get it.
